Arianna's POV:
No. Fudging. Way!
There standing in front of me was the one person I hadn't seen since I was about five. He definitely looked different than what he looked like thirteen years ago, but his warm genuine smile hasn't. The man standing in front of me was still the same man who I could always be myself around. He would never judge me or get mad if I made a mistake or did something wrong. He was always there for me when my parents were off working their crazy hours and when my brother went off to join the Canadian Armed Forces.
The man standing in front of me, was my Uncle Paul.
Even though it has been thirteen years since I've seen him, I never forgot about him or the memories we had together. I could tell my face was still in the form of shock thinking what the heck he was doing in Canada let alone in my small town of Cobourg, an hour away from the big city of Toronto.
He just stood there looking at me. His hands in his jacket pockets, black jeans and running shoes. He smile was the one that made you want to smile too. It was contagious every time. He sort of chuckled at me seeing as I was still not moving from the open doorway.
I blinked a couple times before I pulled myself out of my shocked staring. Slowly a smile pulled onto my face. Uncle Paul pulled his hands out of his pockets and opened his arms. I immediately leaped into his arms, wrapping my own around his neck and burying my face in his shoulder. He did the same and held me off the ground seeing as I was still too short to hug him properly. He held me there for what felt like both hours and seconds.
After he put me down, I couldn't help but let that one pesky question back into my mind.
"Uncle Paul? What are you doing here?" His smile dropped a little, before he masked it thinking I wouldn't have seen it. Yeah, right.
"What? I can't come and see my niece that I haven't seen in thirteen years?" he walked into the room, me making space for him to enter the room. He looks around the room, most likely taking in the musical atmosphere. He always knew I was a musical kid. Whether it was me making beats with my fingers, dancing or me singing songs I had heard my Aunt singing all the time.
He turned back to me and still not answering my question.
"Um, no, but I'm just wondering why you didn't call or anything. You always do." I raised my eyebrow, still wondering why he never called if he was coming here to visit.
He dropped his smile and sighed, making me know that I was right. He didn't come just to visit. He was here for a different reason and by the looks of it, he is about to tell me.
"Arianna. There are a couple things you need to know. All of them explaining why I'm here." He looked at me hoping I'll listen. It's as if he thinks I won't. Of course I'll listen. He's my uncle after all. It's not like he committed a crime right? I nodded letting him know that I'll listen.
We walked to the two bean bag chairs sitting against the wall. I chose to sit in the purple one seeing as that's my favourite colour. Uncle Paul sat in the navy blue one beside me. He leaned back, placing his hands in is lap. I sat up a bit and crossed my arms. I'm not angry or anything, I'm just waiting to hear what he has to say. Uncle Paul doesn't look at me for minute, until after he clears his throat and begins.
"Ari, you know how I hated my job before, when you were younger, right?" I nodded remembering the multiple times he would tell me his job was very, very hard. "Well, I got a new job. As a security guard for famous stars." My eyes widened considerably when he finished. My mouth dropped and I couldn't help but stare at him thinking, my uncle works as a security guard for movie stars? singers? bands?
