It's hard being a single mother to a child who doesn't understand why she has to visit two different houses in order to see her parents. I never wanted this to happen but, shit happens...
"Marie please come here ! This is the last time ima asks your ass nicely." Zairea yelled her voice carried through her average 2 bedroom 1 bath townhome.
Kali- Marie carelessly walks through the threshold of her mother's room with her iPad in her hand.
"Ima take that damn thing." Zairea mumbles sitting her down so she can do something to her daughter curly fro.
"Where we going?" Kali asked looked back at her mom
"You going with your momma. I have to work" Zaria replied brushing her daughter hair up into a loose bun.
"Hey family." Shawn says walking into the room where the girls were.
"Hey." Zai replies making her Kali's hair is okay
"I gotta question for you baby girl." Shawn says sitting on the bed. He never really said much to her about his problems so she wondered what the hell he wanted.
"Okay?"
"Are you done ?" Kali asked touch her head.
"Yeah, you can go back and finish playing or whatever you were doing." Zairea says
Kali didn't respond she just walked out of the room giving Shawn looks. Kali knew what was happening as her Paran would confined to her about his crush on Zai.
"Alright so look.. I think I might like you." He says bluntly. "Maybe even love you." He mumbles
" I know." Zai says straightening up small things around her room. She was dressed in a silk black robe still undressed for her shift which started in an hour.
"How ?"
"It's the way you acted." She replied before walking into her closet.
He followed but she stopped him, he pushed her completely into the closet. "Can I get dressed for work?"
"I'm not stopping you." He said smirking. "I just don't want tension between you and Jas." He mentions watching the silk robe slip fall off of her skin. She wasn't completely naked in her bra and panties.
She didn't say much instead she search the rack of clothing for a pair of scub bottom and a work top. So, Shawn walked up behind her causing a slight smile to come upon her face. "I'm grown. The only thing she has to worry about is my daughter."
"I get that, but you know how protective she is about both of y'all".
"Jasmine lost me to her new wife.. I'm just a baby mama." Zai says bitterly but very subtle
