I woke up to my phone ringing. I rolled over trying to see who it was but my eyes were a bit blurry from just waking up.

"Hello?" I answered sleepily.

"Hey Rose, its Jake. I uh kinda borrowed your phone and got your number." He said.

"Oh hey, I just woke up." I said trying to sound more awake than what I was.

"I didn't wake you up did I?"  He asked.

"Yeah, but I needed to wake up."  I said uncovering the warm covers.

"Well text me when your ready and I'll meet you at the hotel." He said.

"Ok bye." I said and hung up.

I put on the only outfit I had brought a got dressed rather quickly because I didn't bring everything. I walked down to the lobby.

"Honey, your cheak out is at 11 you know that right?" Said the clerk.

"Yeah, yeah, I might stay another day."

"Okay but you'll have to pay for the room." She said.

I texted Jake and told him I was ready to go as I paid for my room for another night. He walked through the doors of the hotel just as I finished paying.

"Where to beautiful?" He smiled and gave me a side hug.

"Coffee." I said and yawned.

"That would be a perfect start." He smiled.

We walked to a local coffee shoo he said was the best but it looked a little run down. We sat down at a booth and I looked around. It had a cute little 60's theme and posters on the walls saying random stuff.

"I know its a little cheesy." He said looking around at the place too.

"Its cute. Cheesy, yes, but cute."  I said and looked at him.

"I geuss." He smiled and stared at me for a minute.

"That's weird stop." I laughed.

"Sorry." He said.

The waitress came and we ordered our coffee.

"The coffee is the best the food on the other hand isn't. I know a good brunch place how bout there?" He played with the sugar packets.

I flicked one of the sugar packets at his face. "Got ya!" I laughed.

He chuckled and picked up the sugar packet. He emptied the container and stacked the sugar and creamer and butter on it making a tower.

"Rose towers." He said as he finished placing the last sugar packet.

I tipped it over. "Oh no Rose's tower just came crashing down like her life."  I laughed even harder almost crying.

He looked at me seriously. "Kidding." I said quickly.

The waiter brought us our coffee and a few extra creamers.

"So tell me a little about yourself, Rose." He said he poured creamer into his coffee.

"There isn't much to tell." I said trying to avoid the subject.

"Oh come on there has to be something. Like were you born here? What's your favorite song? Color?" He sipped his coffee.

I sighed. "Okay, I wasn't born here I was born in Nevada around Las Vegas. My parents always had a thing for the city but it was pretty rough where we lived so we moved here to be closer to family and friends. My favorite song is probably Brother by Falling In Reverse. I like rock music. My favorite color is bright red and my favorite season is fall." I said and took a drink.

"Wow."

He finished his drink and set it aside for the waiter to pick up. He came by picked up his mug and handed him the check. I hurried to finish my drink.

"Take your time no rush." He said and swirled his finger around a circle on the table.

"Thanks." I took one last big drink of my coffee and set it aside the waiter picked up mug and the check. He came back have Jake his change and left us.

"Where to now, darling?" He said smiling at me.
