Ragetti carries me onto the ship as I can't walk properly. A terrifying man approaches us. "I didn't know we was takin' on captives," He says with a thick accent."They've invoked the right if parley with Captain Barbossa," Pintel tells the man. Barbossa? Where have I heard that name before?
Elizabeth walks up to the scarred man. "I am here to neg-"
She is cut off by being backhanded by him. "You will speak when spoken to!"
"Hey!" I yell at him. "Touch my sister again and I will cut your private parts off!"
Captain Barbossa grabs the mans wrist. "Ye will not lay a hand on those under the protection of parley."
"Aye, sir." He pulls his arm away.
"My apologies, misses." Barbossa said to us. He was actually a good looking pirate.
"Captain Barbossa... We are here to negotiate the cessation of hostilities against Port Royal," I tell him seriously.
"There are a lot of long words there. We're naught but humble pirates." He chuckled. "What is it that you want?" I must admit, Captain Barbossa was good looking, even for a pirate. No Lily! Those are bad thoughts!
"I want you to leave and never come back." Elizabeth told him.
"I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request." He tells her. "Means 'no'." Elizabeth glares at him. Then he looks at me. "What happened to this one?" He asks Pintel and Ragetti.
"We didn't do it, Captain. She was stabbed in the streets. We thought it be best for you to deal with the dagger." Ragetti told him.
"Very well."
Elizabeth walked over to the edge of the ship and held the medallion out.
"I'll drop it." She stated.
"Me holds are burstin' with swag. That bit of shine matters to us? Why?" Barbossa asked her. His accent distracted me from the pain in my chest. God! Why can't I get this man out of my mind?!
"It's what you've been searching for. We recognise the ship. We saw it eight years ago on the crossing from England."
"Did you now?" Barbossa glared at her.
"Fine. I suppose if it is worthless, then there's no point in me keeping it." She told the pirates. She dropped the medallion slightly by the chain.
"No!" All the pirates yelled. Barbossa laughed and walked towards her. Ragetti was still holding me up.
"You have a name, missy?" He asks her. A monkey on his shoulder.
"Elizabeth... Turner. I'm a maid in the Governer's household."
"Miss Turner!" He exclaimed and all the pirates laughed. How does a maid come to own that trinket? Family heirloom?"
"I didn't steal it, if that's what you mean."
"Very well, you hand it over and we'll leave and never return." Barbossa tells her. Elizabeth hands the medallion over to him. He hands it to the monkey on his shoulder.
"Our bargin?" She asks. Barbossa nodded to the man who slapped her.
"Still the guns and stow them. Signal the men and make good to clear port!" He yelled at the crew.
"Wait!" Elizabeth yells. "You have to take us to shore. According to the Code.."
"First!" He yells at Elizabeth. "Your return to shore was not part of our negotiation so I must do nothin'. Secondly, you must be a pirate for the Pirate's Code to apply, and you're not. And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call guidelines than actual rules. Welcome aboard the Black Pearl, Miss Turner." Pintel dragged Elizabeth somewhere and Barbossa approached me, Ragetti still holding me up. "Do you have a name, Miss?" He asked me.
"Lily." I say, looking up at him, tears forming in my eyes from the pain in my chest.
"Do ye have a last name?"
"Not that I know of." I tell him, almost crying.
"Very well, Miss Lily," He puts a hand around my waist, helping me to walk. "Come with me." He leads me to what I think is the captain's cabin.
Captain Barbossa motions to a chair. "Sit." He tells me. I sit down and he walks to a desk and brings back a needle, thread, cloth and what looks like whisky or rum. "I'm not going to lie, this may hurt a lot."
He placed the cloth in my mouth and gently pulled the dagger out. I could taste dirt and alcohol on the cloth, which wasn't nice but at least the dagger was out. He ripped my lace underdress so he could get to the wound. I felt weird as my breasts were completely exposed but Barbossa didn't seem fazed about it. "I'm going to clean the wound and stitch it up. Feel free to scream, should ye feel the need."
I felt a searing pain as Barbossa cleaned my wound with rum and began to stitch it up. I bit into the cloth as hard as I could. As the pain got worse, a huge gust of wind came from behind me. Barbossa seemed to notice, so he stopped what he was doing and looked around the cabin, and the wind stopped. After seeing nothing weird, he continued to stitch me up. As the pain got worse, the wind returned. This is just getting weird.
Barbossa finished tending to my wound and wrapped some cloth around me, covering the stitches. The cloth went completely around me and under my breasts. He covered my chest with my nightgown. "There ye go. I will need to check the wound a few times a day, make sure ye don't get infected." I swear I saw him smile. No, I was probably just imagining it.
"Thankyou, Captain Barbossa." I smiled at him. Suddenly, more wind came from behind me, blowing my long black hair all over my face.
"Ye never told me ye were magical, Lily." He looked shocked. What the hell is going on?
"I'm sure I don't know what you mean, Captain Barbossa."
"I'll tell ye 'bout it tomorrow." He motioned to the bed. "Ye must be tired. Rest. I'll check on ye soon." He left the cabin and I went over to the bed. I slid under the covers and went to sleep.
