Robyn above.

As soon as Kevin walked in, any slight ease in the atmosphere went out the window.

Declan's jaw clenched and every muscle in his body tensed.

"Hey, Lil. You ready?" Kevin called as he walked to the cash register.

"Hands off the counter, Woods." Said Robyn and smacked his oily hands. "Would it kill you to actually clean yourself up before coming down here?"

"It might." He shot back. "Why can't you understand that I just can't stay away from you two ladies?"he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pinched her cheek with his extra greasy hand.

She let out an annoyed breath and elbowed him in the stomach. He groaned and let go of her.

"Seriosly Benny, you're wasting your time here. You should join a fighting club or something."

Lily smiled as she saw the pair bickering back and forth. But his presence still overwhelmed her. For some reason, her heart ached when she remembered the look on his face last night when he saw Kevin.  Unconsciously, she gazed over to where he is now standing.

Declan's begging brown eyes morphed into cold stones. He stood tall with his back straight and his shoulders broad and walked over to Kevin.

"hello, Kevin, right?" he gave him his hand. "we didn't get a chance to get properly introduced last time. I'm Declan Wright."

Kevin looked at him and then down at his hand. After a quick worried glance he shot Lily, he wiped his hand on his jeans and shook Declan's.

Declan tightened his grip around it and gave him a cold smile. "you probably already heard about me. the press has been talking non-stop about my new book and my girlfriend is standing right next to you."

"ex-girlfriend." Lily spat.

"you lost the right to call her that a long time ago." Robyn fumed.

For a second, Declan flinched. If the girls weren't glaring at him, they would've missed it.

"anyway," he shrugged, taking a tissue out of his pocket and wiping his hand. "I just wanted to calculate the level of competition I have." He tossed the tissue on the counter. "turns out I don't have much work to do."

A light blush spread over Kevin's face. "w-wait you think we're-"

"he'll always mean more to me than you ever will." Lily interrupted grabbing Kevin's arm and turning him around.

Declan's eyes zeroed in on the place she touched him and his hands clenched into fists.

"come on, Kev, let's get out of here."

And with that, they left, Kevin threw a few worried glances over his shoulder but Declan didn't notice. He kept staring at the girl who's crushing him with every step she takes away from him.

They were gone, the door was closed but he stood rooted to his spot. He couldn't move a muscle. Part of him wanted to chase after her and take her away. Away from that boy. Away from Robyn. And search for the old Lily. no. for the old Anna. His Anna.

Suddenly, a certain blonde stood in front of him. She put her hands on her hips and glared at him.

"so, do you have any dignity left you want to lose?" she said.

"what?" he blinked.

She huffed and shook her head and then lifted it and spoke slowly while looking in his eyes as if talking to a uncomprehending child. "are you going to leave or do I need to kick you out myself?"

He glared at her.

She lifted her eyebrow. "don't look at me like that. We both know that I would be more than happy to do that."

He stared at her with his calculating brown eyes, deciding on his next move before he sighed in defeat. "what happened Robyn?"

"you don't seriously expect me to answer that, now do you?"

"please, she's... she's different. What the hell happened while I was gone?"

"a lot." She said. "she lost everything while you were busy signing autographs. And I never thought I'd be so mad to see her finally away from you, but I am. You shouldn't have left." She whispered the last part as she headed to the kitchen.

"oh no you don't." he grabbed her arm. "I'm not letting you go until you answer me even if that means staying here all day or even closing this damn diner until you start speaking."

"go ahead. Take away the last thing she has left will you? It's not like this place means something to lilly or anything. This diner is the only thing that reminds her of-" she stopped and lowered her head as her breathing hitched. She looked back up at him and he almost gasped as he saw her eyes that were always so strong and cold, glaze over. She swallowed and her eyes hardened once more. "you should go. You hurt her more than enough."

"for God's sake Robyn, tell me."

She pulled her arm out of his grip and stormed to the kitchen. And this time, he didn't stop her.

hey guys.

i know. i know. i pulled an MIA for too long this time. and i apologize for that. i truly am sorry. i could go on and on about how tough and messed up my life became since college happened, but i'm gonna spare you guys the misery. but i will tell you this; if you're considering architecture as a major, DON'T do it, i repeat DO NOT do it. unless you have a serious case of insomnia and / or are looking for an excuse to end your social life and skip family reunions, then architecture school is not for you. so basically if you are sane and want to keep your brain and body alive for the next half decade, choose something else.

ok on another note, some of you may notice i edited the other chapters. i basically just added the cast pics. and now Declan is played by Malik Zayn and Anna/Lilly is Emily DiDonato (she has brown hair now.)

also, i know this chapter is kinda short. but it's kind of a filler chapter. and i decided that i'm gonna try to write smaller chapters more frequently. (no promises. key word being try). BUT i will update. like i said before, i am not giving up on this. and sorry for the wait.

Now, tell me what you think.

 Good?

 Bad?

do you think what Declan did is acceptable?

what about Robyn? what do you think about her and her attitude?

any theories about what happened to Anna?

until next time (hopefully soon),

Assalamo Alaikom.
