I wiped the tears that were rolling down my cheeks. I really didn't want to leave. My life was back home, my friends, my family, my life.

I came home from a normal, boring ole day at school to my parents standing in the foyer, waiting for me. I was not expecting the next few words to come out if their mouths.

My mothers soft brown eyes and my fathers electric blue eyes stared at me with pity.
"Ivory, your mother and I," my father rough voice said, "have decided to send you off to a boarding school. This is a privilege. You will be getting the best education possible, so do not fight with us about this."

Despite his words, I fought with every fibre of my being to stay. I screamed, I yelled and cried all the way to the airport but they did not budge. What hurt the most was that they didn't care. Didn't show an ounce of remorse for tipping my world upside down. As soon as I was out of the car, they drove off.

It took me four hours on the plane to finally accept what had happened. I still didn't understand why they did this. Why it was so sudden. That was probably the most upsetting part about this whole situation. Why?

I was in the air for about eight hours. I did not know where but I knew I was out of America.

The plane had landed roughly ten minutes ago but I stayed seated in the leather chair. I pushed my brown hair out of my face and wiped my tears once again before standing up and walking out of the plane.

Outside, there was a plain black sedan with tinted windows waiting for me.

Wherever I was, I knew I wasn't in Kansas anymore. The sky was covered in grey clouds that looked as though they would burst any second. Surrounding the air strip, was a forest of thick evergreen trees. The air was fresh, it wasn't polluted like the air back home.

"Ahem"

I turned my head towards the sound.

"Time to go ma'am"

I nodded numbly at the uniform clad chauffeur and stepped into the car. My eyes took awhile to adjust to the dark interior of the car. It looked brand new. There was nor a speck of dust or crumb in the backseat and it  smelled like it had just come out of the factory.

I turned my head towards the window and stared out at the beautiful scenery. It was probably the only positive to this ordeal. I had always liked gloomy weather. I felt comfortable in it. Like I belonged.

It was only a short drive until we reached a tall wrought iron fence. It opened automatically to reveal the most beautiful building I have ever seen. It's gothic church vibe had me in awe. It was also bigger then any church I had ever seen.

Once the car had stopped, I opened the door and slowly stepped out.

Welcome to your new home Ivory.
