HER SECOND YEAR of college was coming to an end. Siyeon was more than happy as she finally fixed her messed up schedule for next semester.

The corridor was empty, the sound of her shoes, although flats, echoed through the place. Her phone buzzed, she fished it out and answered the call.

By a hot conversation, including many curses and whines, the good friend she met as a freshman convinced her in attending a small get together at a friend's house.

Small was what she said, but the girl's cheeks flushed as possibly hundreds of guests occupied the large hall. Dozens of glamorous outfits other girls showed up in shadowed her simple maroon knee length dress that hugged her chest perfectly.

She stroked her hair, now reaching just above her shoulder. While being guided by her friend to be introduced to some of the guests, Siyeon recognized many of her previous high school mates. It unsettled her.

Then as she expected, she was left alone to sit at a couch with two male strangers, her friend excusing herself to go get drinks or whatever. She took an awful long time; Siyeon slouched and heaved a sigh as the clock signaled yet another hour passing with her in the same spot.

Yes, parties weren't really her thing.

A girl approached, seemingly familiar with her given she called her by the name. She said she was a classmate of hers, kept droning on how she remembered the day they laughed at the teacher, skipped classes, crushed on a few attractive boys, but Siyeon didn't recall any of it. All she remembered of high school was being utterly friendless.

'So,' the girl finally took a breath and stopped with her claims. 'You were with Baekhyun right? Byun Baekhyun?'

Her eyes pierced through her, hating the insolent smile she nonchalantly held.

'I heard his family took him to another city after he..you know, attempted suicide.'

Siyeon stared at the night sky from the balcony. Music nearly exploding her eardrums, but she didn't mind. The days seemed so far, of her and him.

But she was glad of one thing. Now that someone may ask her 'did the dead girl's boyfriend ask you if he can be your pet?' She'd say,

'what dead girl's boyfriend?'
