Kate closed the Word tab and remained silent as all the memories with Castle ended. Back in reality Kate sighed as she turned off the computer.
Castle had been gone for a year now, but Kate still woke up in the morning with a smile as she wanted to reach out for Rick, feel his warm cheeks against her fingertips. But each day her smile faded when her fingers touched the white empty sheets.
After a year Kate had gained the courage to switch on his computer so she could remember him just one more time. And then she had found the document: I just want you. Surprised, but yet filled with pain, she had opened it. The document had been over 600 pages, and each page had been filled with memories of him and her.
Each page was filled with memories the both of them had shared before the accident had occurred. Each page was filled with either intrigue, happiness or sorrow. But what made Kate cry in the end of the story weren't the words or the sentences of his memories. It was the sentence he had wrote in the end that made the tears fall.
Kate. I love you. I always have and always will.
Kate smiled vaguely as she stroked her tears away. "I love you too Rick."
After a year of pain and tears Kate had decided to give him the final goodbye. But it was hard. Because those six years together had been amazing. And now Rick was gone. Kate rose from the chair as she rested her palm on his desk. "Goodbye Rick." She whispered.
