Bright light awakes
And the night it takes
As we open our eyes again.
The rooster crows
As down the moon goes
Calling us out of our dens.
A flower opens up here,
A bird sings there,
A soul rejoices somewhere near,
For with this new light comes a new day,
A fresh start,
A new hope,
Another way.
But for some,
Waking up is the worst part
For it forces us to face
Our broken and shattered hearts.
