Chapter 8

*Nicole's POV*

"Nicole." a soft voice above me said. "Dont worry I will not harm you." For some reason I trusted the voice. I just felt safe and secure. Kind of like whenever I'm with Danny.

"Uuugh" I moaned. "I have a major headache."

"Your lucky thats the only one of your problems."

"What do you mean?" I asked a little afraid now.

"Well dear. Your dead." That immediately got my attention. I snapped open my eyes to see a beautiful middle aged woman sitting beside me on the bed. She had crescent moon shaped earrings, her hair was a silk silver. Her eyes were a bright blue. She wore a silk dress that draped over the side of the bed and touched the floor. When I looked around I saw that the room was nicely furnished. It had a black, white, and silver design. It all complimented each other perfectly though. I looked back at the woman.

"Who are you and what do you mean I'm dead?" I asked.

"What did you expect. How else could you meet the moon goddess," the woman asked in a tone that implied everyone knew. "Oh, not everyone one knows?"

Wait, did she read my mind?

"Yes, yes I did." She stated matter of factly.

"But how could I be dead?" I asked, "I mean I was in perfect health and all that."

"OK. You must listen closely my dear." And with that she explained what had happened and why it was happening.

There is a creature with the power to create illusions. That was what attacked Rachael's pack. This creature is trying to kill me and Rachael. It apparently succeeded with me. The reason it was trying to attack us was the fact that we are descendants of two ancient beings of immense power. Children of the moon goddess herself. They had sacrificed themselves eons ago to save this world and all of it inhabitants.

"I need to warn Rachael!" I said when she finished explaining.

"Do you really expect her to listen?" The moon goddess asked who's name was apparently Diana.

"No," I said with a sigh, "what am I going to do?"

"That is for you to discover." and with that remark I was back in the forest.
