Rules

Dear Humans, 

If your reading this, then your smarter than your fellow humans, who will not read this. Read Carefully, your life does depend on it. 

1. You no longer have any control. You are under us. 

2. Speak to vampires with respect.

How this will work is simple. 

1. Every month we will round up girls for our monthly auction. This means you become a blood slave. You have NO rights. If you resist you will face DEATH. What your owner does to you, is up to THEM. 

2. As far is the male race goes, you are free to live with your family, seeing as we need you to produce females to continue the human race. You will not be bothered as long as you do not fight against us. 

3. If you are a women over 30, your safe from these rules. Only young blood is wanted. 

4. If you are not chosen to be a blood slave, your free to live with your family and continue your life. We will not bother you.

Standings:

For your knowledge know that there is One King. Two Lords, who have the same power ability as our king. There are twenty knights, and the rest of our kind are just regular, but strong vampires. 

You do not need to know the King and Lord's name. Unless you are brought to their court. 

If you disobey the rules you will be brought to the King and Lord's attention. 

King and Lord's Words

I shut the book and threw it on the ground. My Father, Mother, and Brother were safe from everything. So I was okay. My family was safe. But I wasn't. 

My brother was staring at me when I looked at him. 

"Nina, they can't take you." 

"Spencer." I came to sit next to him. "You may not fight against them. Do you understand me? If you object they will kill you."

"They're going to kill you!"

"Not necessarily, they said if you get chosen. And besides blood slave must mean that they might not kill me. We do not need to worry about anything until it happens." I kissed my brother's head. 

"You, Mom, and Dad are safe. I'm sure we'll all be just fine."

"Promise?" Spencer looked at me, hoping I could promise him stuff like I used to.

"I can't promise that I will be okay, but I will promise you this. If you obey the rules with mom and dad you will be okay." 

My brother smiled faintly at me before picking up the book and running into his room. Sighing I flicked on the TV. 

I stared at the TV in confusion. The screen was black with white blinking lights, and large bold print, saying First auction is tomorrow!!! Be ready. 7:00 pm. 

Not only were they planning to sell us they were taking away our TV shows? I groaned and leaned over picking up my cell phone. 

2 New Messages

Mom: Are you home? I replied quickly before clicking on the next message. 

Aria: Did you get home, Nina? 

I stared at the text message before typing back yes. What she said at the school had confused me. She hadn't gotten the book and said she would try to protect me. How would she do that unless-

The remote and phone slipped out of my hand. There was no way my best friend was a vampire. There couldn't be. 

Just then the front door swung open and I jumped off the couch. My dad and mom shuffled through the door. 

"Mom, Dad, you're home." I was happy to see them as I flung myself into their arms. 

"Where's Spencer?"

"In his room" 

"Are you okay?"

"Did you read the book they gave us?" I peered into my mom's eyes watching her reaction. 

"No"

"I think you should, both of you." I handed them the tossed book that Spencer had thrown. 

"I'll start dinner."
