There are many people out there. Each one of them has a history. Each one of them has struggles. Each one of them isn't who you think they are.
So why should you pay attention to the story of Matthew Sanders? Why should you care about someone of minor significance within the world?
I have no reasons for you to. I do just trust that you may enjoy this story, and that you may learn something new about Matthew. Perhaps you may learn something about life through his experiences.
In a land with Elemental Masters, people holding extreme power and abilities of all different kinds, there are struggles around every corner.

Let's start with the story of Matthew's mother. A slightly rich woman who married the man of her dreams, only to end up broke because of the man withdrawing for alcohol.

Day 1

Mrs. Sanders brushes away the glass of a broken beer bottle on the floor. Her husband had hardly noticed her for the majority of her life after their marriage. He just would sit on the recliner chair scrolling through the channels of the radio station, drinking beer, and sleeping. Mrs. Sanders knew that soon there would be children in the house, and that Mr. Sanders would soon be needing to step up his game if he was to raise these children properly.

Day 8

Mr. Sanders has made no apparent progress in doing anything whatsoever productive. Mrs. Sanders decided that perhaps she should confront the lazy pig and tell him the news... or maybe she should wait.

Day 13

Mrs. Sanders was growing depressed with the loss of money the two had been experiencing, and the odd supply of beer and brandy in the house. Mrs. Sanders decided that it was the time to teach Mr. Sanders a lesson... so she did.
She addressed it calmly, but he yelled at her. He threatened her. She screamed, yelling back at him. It had all just gone wrong... so wrong...

Day 45

Mr. Sanders would snap at Mrs. Sanders constantly, each time she even tried to approach him. It has been going on about a month now. She ignored his snaps, he shouted, he threatened, and then he passed out drunk. Mrs. Sanders was disgusted at how low he had fallen.

Day 74

Mrs. Sanders felt like she should tell him... it was coming soon. Their firstborn child. But even if she came calmly and in piece to tell him the good news, the news that might reunite the family... he shouted and threatened, and then shooed her away as if she was just a fly in his way.

Day 110

There was nothing she could do. Mr. Sanders wouldn't have listened... so Mrs. Sanders drove to the hospital to the best of her ability. The high altitudes of the mountains made her breaths short and quick, but she made sure to breathe plenty, for she had a very important passenger.

Day 113

She arrived at the hospital, the constant bump with the horse's wagon made her conscientious for the child, hoping that they were okay. The nurses took her in straight away, Mrs. Sanders paying what needed to be paid for the treatment.
She had a son.

Day 118

It wasn't really a secret. Mr. Sanders heard the screams of young Luke, the name of her son. Mr. Sanders then felt something in him that day... he had a massive responsibility on his hands.
And for a whole three years, he set down his drink and devoted his life towards raising a family.

But only for three years.
