Once I heard the footsteps leaving, I snuck down the hall.

There were working classes beside me.

They were all raising hands.

And they were laughing.

I wanted to do that too.

But I don't need pity.

I'm a strong guy.

I was so close to the entrance until I heard a girl call me.

"Hey! Why are you trying to sneak out?"

The voice was so familiar.

To heard footsteps.

Thump.
Thump.
Thump.

I didn't know what I was hearing those noises from.

Is it my heart or is it the steps?

Someone tapped me on the back.

"It's boring here isn't it. I wanna leave too. Wanna do it together?"

Without looking back I grabbed her arm and waked out the door.

I walked to the alley.

And sat down on the place I used to sit at.

I was still grabbing her arm.

I let go.

And left.

She followed me again.

"Are you sad?"

I stopped.

And looked down at my feet.

"I'm sad too."

"Are you mad?" I mumbled softly.

I felt arms go around me.

"Yes, I'm mad too."

I looked at her.

It was Lindsey.

I wasn't shocked.

She was always there.

She looked bewildered.

I guess she recognized me too.

Her face softened.

She held my hand.

And I did something too.

I hugged her back.
