As I walked into the ball I spotted my first target of the night.
I stride over to where hes sitting.
James Kondes.
"Hello handsome." I say, standing by the side of the table and bending over. I rest my elbows on the table.
He looks me up and down. I had chosen a dark red gown with lace patterns around my breasts. Not too much compared to whats in my closet. I put on a matching shade of lipstick and winged eyeliner, with fake eyelashes. I had tucked a few of my smaller knives into my hair and secured them.
"Want a drink sweetheart?" He asks, standing up.
"No thanks, but i'd prefer a dance." I cock my eyebrow and smirk up at James. His dark brown eyes stare into my light grey ones. My eyes are my best and worst asset. They can be used in helpful ways but eyes dont lie, I so I have to be on my A game when I use them. My eyes are seen as beautiful and I get many compliments on them.
As he walks me to the floor he asks me for my name.
"Genivieve, yours?" I lie, Genivieve was the name I picked for tonight. My actual name is Evangeline, but he doesn't need to know that.
"James." He replies, being truthful. Only in my dreams would I be that good.
When we get on the floor he puts his one hand on my waist and I can feel the cold metal of the knife I had hidden there. I smile.
We dance for a few songs before he started to lean in. I stood on my tiptoes to meet his lips. When I pull away I fake a smile up at him and lean in so I can whisper to him.
"I think we should go somewhere else." I grab him by the hand and motion with my one finger for him to follow me, a mischievous look on my face.
When we get outside of the ballroom I start to run, my dress swishing around my feet. I pull his hand with me down to an abandoned hallway. He pushes me against the wall and starts to kiss me roughly.
I smile against his lips. This is my favorite part.
I reach into the ruffles of my dress and grab a strong, unbreakable, thin wire before wrapping my arms around him. I bite his lip sexually to distract him while I wrap the thin wire around his neck.
I tighten it slightly around his neck for a second and he pulls away.
Too late.
I tighten the wire again (just tight enough for pain but not enough to kill yet) and walk around where he cant see me, holding the wire in place on the back of his neck.
"James?" I taunt. "Why'd you stop? I was having fun." A smirk plays on my lips.
I pull a small knife out of my hair and press the cold blade to the back of his neck.
"Cat got your tounge, James?" I tease.
I slowly pull a gun out of the folds of my dress, making sure he cant hear it.
I press the gun to his head and pull the trigger. A rush of adrenaline runs through me and I smirk down at his lifeless body.
I dont waste time. I pull James' sleeve up and take my smallest knife. I carve a simple rose into his arm and the name Arielle in cursive underneath.
The Rebellion Has Begun.
