Chapter Four
Tamia
As I sat in the library with Laini and Raina, I couldn't help but think about what Trevante said last night.
I'm not telling you to rebel or run away but you only live once.
Never would I have thought that Drake lyrics would ring in my head for this long but I was starting to consider it. I only lived once and it didn't have a single exciting moment to show for it.
Here I was sitting in the library studying my ass off for a test I knew I would pass in a heartbeat. I sat in the library full of people who were cramming or surfing unnecessary shit. Club flyers of different campus parties were plastered on the bulletin board and every second someone passed by and got one. Most were the rebellious ones, tattoos, and piercings that loved the party scene. Even my own friends spotted their fair share of parties, tattoos, and occasional one night stands. Then there was me, virgin never branded my body with tattoos, never drank smoke or walked in a club. I guess it was the result of my mom, she had me involved in her things that kept me so far away. Just in those moments, I was slowly seeing my adult years drive past me.
"Y'all I want to go to a strip club or a regular club," I said aloud and few heads turned towards me maybe not because I was loud but because of a woman my age openly saying that I never been to a damn club.
"Repeat it again?" Laini asked taking an earbud out of her ear as she and Raina looked at me puzzled.
Raina leaned back and from the look on her face, she was trying her hardest not to laugh out loud in the library.
"What made you think about this?" Raina snickered and I sighed.
"I want to go to a club," I whispered to avoid being the center of attention, "I haven't been to a club or drank and I'm twenty-three, I mean I have to pop that cherry someday," I explained.
"That and the other cherry if you know what I mean," Laini said making Raina stuff her head in her textbook and started laughing.
As much as sex was kind of a thing at my age, I never got it. Yeah, I got horny sometimes but giving someone the opportunity of taking something so precious to me, I kindly decline. My virginity was going to be taken by someone I loved and wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
"Yeah whatever, I just want to do things we are supposed to be doing you know? Clubbing, drinking, the whole nine." I said smiling as I thought about myself dancing in someone's club or a random guy complimenting me and my figure and can't stop buying me drinks.
Raina and Laini looked at each other then at me smiling.
"So my homegirl Kaykay is throwing a party at G5ive tonight, two dollar Tuesdays." Raina said and then took a deep breath, "you're sure you can handle this? I don't want you to be uncomfortable."
I rolled my eyes, "I can handle it, what am I going to wear?"
Laini's eyes widened, "nothing in that saved and sanctified closet of yours. I actually got a sexy outfit that will fit perfectly on you."
I smiled in excitement thinking about tonight and took out my phone with the perfect excuse to tell my mom.
"Texting Mommy excuses? Girl, I forget that you are twenty-three, yeah we getting shitface drunk and making it rain tonight."
I smiled at her idea already knowing this was going to be a start something new for me and I wasn't going to hold back.
*Later That night*
I looked at myself in the mirror in the black short mini dress and matching heels. My hair was set into soft curls and set on the side instead of the usual bone straight Brazilian that I was used to. I constantly tried to pull down the dress because I felt like it was going to ride right over my ass and show every little bit of goodies that I had.
