Bridgette Duncan and I were walking to the mess hall. When we got in Chef and Chris were laughing together.
“Chef and Chris laughing together, equals hell for us” I said.
“Oh how bad could it be?” Duncan asked. “Wanna bet?” I asked as we sat down.
“Congratulations to the remaining eleven campers for making it to the halfway mark in the competition. You’ll all be on the jury for the final episode” Chris said.
“Got the power! Yeah!” Geoff cheered.
“The two teams will become one next week. But first all the girls will be moved to the gopher cabin and all the guys will stay in the bass cabin. This week’s challenge is as old as history itself. A battle of the sexes” Chris told us. Duncan winked at Lindsay and she spit at him. I hit his arm a little to scold him.
“After everyone is settled in I’ll announce the challenge, then you’ll have a, uh bite to eat” Chris said making him and Chef laugh again. “Ready for a little good news?”
“This week no one will be kicked off” he said causing us to cheer. “It’s all for reward and it’s a gooood one. Okay time to relocate, let’s move!”
Bridgette and I walked out and Duncan hugged me from behind kissing me quickly. “How will I ever survive without you in the next room?” he said.
“Don’t worry I’m only about eight more steps away, at least you don’t have to pack” I said. “Haha sucks for you” He laughed kissing me once again before going into the cabin.
Geoff passed us and Bridgette looked up and smiled at him. “Geoff and Bridgette sitting in a tree” I sand to tease her.
She smiled “What are we five?”
“Why don’t you just go make a move on him?” I asked.
“It took you awhile to do anything about Duncan!” She reminded me.
“Yeah, but look how well that turned out for me, you guys are totally meant to be, there’s no way he’d reject you” I said, “And if he did, he’d have to deal with me” I smiled.
She did the same “Where would I be if you weren’t my best friend?”
“Probably somewhere quite miserable” I joked.
Heather came up behind us while we were walking. “Alex, Bridgette! Both your hair looks so good today. So natural”
“Save it Heather” I said. She glared at me.
“Thanks I just-” “How do you take care of it? You have to share your secret!” She said clutching Bridgette’s arm. Oh puh-lease. “Oh it’s nothing really” Bridgette said.
“Watch it with this one, she’s trouble” Gwen said pointing to Heather, they then glared at each other while I grabbed Bridgette’s arm and dragged her to the cabin.
“Are you insane?” I said in shock. “What?” she asked grabbing her bag.
“Oh come on, Heather’s evil, we can’t just be all buddy, buddy with her” I said.
“She was nice right there” She said, this girl is really losing it. I went under our bunk and took out my mini fridge. “Ha, yeah that's called acting” I said putting my tan backpack on and grabbing my two other bags. Geoff stepped in as we were going out. I smirked at their little meeting, “Um I’ll just be out there” I nudged Bridgette, hoping she’d finally make the big move.
I saw Chris come in after a few seconds and pull her out. “So, anything?” I asked her eagerly. “Chris kinda stopped anything from happening” She sighed. I rolled my eyes “He’ll be a dead reality-show host later”
