Eventually Thomas and his stepfather, Oliver, made it to their abode. Stepping out of the car he made his way towards the door and stepped through. The smell of cinnamon wafted into his nose and he sighed a little at the familiar scent of his mother's cinnamon pie.

Thomas walked into the kitchen where he spotted his mother taking out said pie. Setting down the pie onto the countertop, she turned around as she heard footsteps walking into her general direction. Oliver pushed his way passed Thomas and made his way to her giving her a hug and a kiss on the forehead.

Thomas rolled his eyes at the show of affection before turning his way to head to his room.

"How did the session with your therapist go this time?"

Thomas's mother's words made him stop and turn around on his heel to face her.

"Fine."

"Oh really, because I got a call from her once again saying how you left early."

Thomas just stayed quiet as his stepfather turned to him, anger evident in his eyes.

"We are not paying for you to skip the sessions with your therapist. Those sessions aren't cheap you know!" Before he could rant out at Thomas about him skipping his mother placed her left hand on Oliver's shoulder. Oliver looked over at her and saw the look she was sending him. That one glance told him to drop the subject of money and save it for later.

"But Rose you know we can't just let him leave those sessions early like that."

"I'm not saying that we let him keep leaving early like that." Oliver just sighed knowing it would be no good in arguing with her.

Thomas's mother , Rose, turned her gaze back to her son.

"Have you at least talked with her about that accident?"

Thomas turned his head to the left. He was tempted to lie to his mother and say yes, but he could never lie to her. His stepfather he could lie to but not his mother.

"There is no point in talking about that, it has nothing to do with the 'temporary' color blindness."

"What if it does though. Plus I think it would be good for you to talk about it for once, you haven't uttered a word about it since it happened."

"No." With that said, Thomas turned around and headed to his room.

Rose turned back to Oliver and sighed a look of concern glossed over her brown eyes.

Across town in a white, two story house lived a girl with long, brown hair and blue eyes. Her name is Zyth Dires and she, in a way, was like Thomas. They both were having to deal with an issue that has been bothering them for quite some time. Unlike Thomas though Zyth is having to deal with a bad case of social anxiety.

She always ends up locking herself in her room and rarely goes outside. She is homeschooled. When she tried going to a public school she just hid in a corner and kept to herself. Her parents having had enough of dealing with her anxiety, tried many things to try and 'help' with her social anxiety. By help I mean sending her to a therapist hoping it would get rid of all the anxiety she holds.

For her, going to a complete stranger to talk about her anxiety made her think of the worst situations. Right now said girl was in her room, sitting on her bed with her pastel blue silk blankets over her. She was contemplating her very first session with her new therapist.

It went like how she expected it to. She sat in a chair while across from her sat a complete stranger just staring at her with judgmental eyes. She didn't say a word to her therapist the whole session and only fiddled with the edge of her shirt. Playing with the edge of her shirt was a habit she picked up on at the age of ten.

Not knowing what to do anymore and kinda bored with contemplating what happened earlier on in the day, she sat up in her comfy bed. Zyth let out a sigh and got out of her bed. She walked to her favorite part of her room, a bay window. She sat down on the fluffy green seat and pulled the black curtain away from the glass so she could peer outside.

She loved this spot because it made it possible for her to see the beauty of the world without actually having to step outside. It also made it so she could observe the people in her neighborhood and learn their little quirks, just in case she needs some blackmail material.

The sun was slowly setting in the horizon making the sky a beautiful mixture of oranges, pinks, and purples. It painted the area in an interesting sort of way. She watched as people scurried to their homes and kids being called by their parents. A stray, tan cat ran across her front lawn which averted her gaze to the grass.

The green shade of the grass reminded her of the strange teenage boy who got onto the elevator with her.

~Flashback~

Zyth gave of a sigh as she entered the metal box and pushed the first floor button. Before it could go all the way down to the first floor it stopped on the second floor. When the doors opened a teenage boy around the same age as Zyth stepped into the contraption. Seeing the new stranger put the poor girl into high alert and she for what felt like the millionth time that day started to fiddle with her shirt and tremble. The close proximity didn't do the girl justice as she silently pleaded to get of the elevator as soon as she can. Suddenly a small sneeze left her and she quickly looked in the opposite direction from the stranger.

Zyth couldn't help but have her eyes wonder over to the strange boy for a quick look before looking back. He was wearing a blue hoodie with black jeans and a pair of red vans upon his feet. What made her go in for another glance though were his eyes.

They were the most pretty shade of green she has ever seen and at the sight of them it made her a little bit calmer. His eyes contrasted well with his curly red hair that fell just right over his forehead. Turning her attention back in front of her, she started to mind her own business once more. Soon the elevator opened up to show the hallway of the first floor and after the boy left she stepped of off the elevator. Making her way to the front door she accidentally tripped and fell on her face. Grunting she picked herself up. She could feel her face heat up and she wished the ground would swallow her right there in that spot. Realizing how stupid she probably looked for just standing there she walked outside and looked for her mom's car. Spotting it not a minute later she hurriedly made her way over and sat down into the passenger side of the vehicle.
