"Ugh! Finally!""You're the one who told me not to drive to school."
"I did it for this very reason."
"Which is?"
"So you could have the car to go out later, duh," she spun and faced me, gesturing with her arms and shoulders how obvious the reason is.
"I could've still asked you know. Plus walking Is healthy."
"If you wanna live a long bitter life, then yes."
"You need it most with all the junk food you love-"
"I'm here for a good time not a long time!" she said aloud, cutting me off.
"You won't be blessed with that body for long you know," I teased.
"Stop being jelly, 'cause you know you love me either way, babe," she teased, making a kissy face at me.
"Hahah nooooooo." I held out up my hands, gesturing to push her away.
We approached my parents house and Claire quickly sneaked up to the side of the house. I had no clue what she was up to, its not like I had to sneak her in. She's basically my sister. Then I heard her groan hysterically from the drive way.
"Ugh!"
"What's the matter?" I called from in front of the house.
"Dad's not home," she said walking up to me.
"And?"
"We're gonna have to use your mom's car."
"Well it's no problem, plus it's easier for me to drive."
"But it's pink! And an old stick shift."
"Well what about your mom's car?" I teased.
"Not since I crashed it, remember?"
"It's just a slightly, ugly, tiny, huge ding that bent up the hood," I laughed.
"Shut up!" she shoved me playfully. "You were there, you should've warned me."
"I did. Several times, but nooo you just had to chase Ms. Wilson's cat WITH THE CAR!"
"Stop making it sound so horrible. That white devil stole my sushi!"
"You left it unattended...4 years ago!"
"He clawed me deep that day...it still burns." she dramatically said, squinting her eyes.
I couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous and petty she is. It really wasn't that bad of an accident. Everything was alright when we hit the tree, but some how just the hood of the car folded up. Thank God we were alright. I was a bit upset with Claire that time, but we came out and just laughed with and at each other. She isn't as reckless as she was back then, she's growing up day by day and I wouldn't change her for the world.
"So what about your dad's car?"
"Not since I crashed mom's car," she laughed, making me laugh too. "Plus we'd have to go half way across the town to beg him for it. This sucks."
"Well we'll just have to make do then."
"All right, but let's see what mom made for lunch. All this talk about cars and sushi is making me hungry."
"You're always hungry."
"Only when I'm not full!" she grinned.
We went up onto the porch and rang the doorbell, Claire a bit too much until I stopped her hand. She faced me with a mischievous grin. My mom was taking her time to answer the door, which can only mean she got the afternoon off.
