"Come on Marilyn get up!" My mom yelled in my face while folding my laundry.
"Do I have to go?" I said very tired. I don't want people making fun of my name and I am going to a new school-that's normally what happens-but she still made me go.
I got out of my warm, cozy bed and threw on some jeans with a white tank top and a purple flannel. I also wore a cute pare of boots that were brown and traveled up my legs.
I went downstairs and my mom had already had breakfast ready because my dad went to work. I ate breakfast and I started walking to my school. That's right. I had to walk on my first day.
I am almost there as the cool, fall breeze hits my face. A few seconds later I'm at Lexington Local High School. It looked like a normal, boring high school with the bike racks in the front next to the flag. For some reason the flag was half way down my first day. It turns out one of the students dad was a police officer and died. How sad that people can't just keep there crap together and not kill people.
I have trouble finding my locker so I end up being late to my first period-math. The teacher didn't care since it was my first day. The math teacher was a very short, slim man with blonde hair and glasses. He looked really nerdy to me. He told me to sit wherever so I sat in the back of the room.
Then of course he had me stand up in front of the class and talk. As I walked up to the front of the room, I trip on someone's book bag. They start laughing as if they had planned it. I got up and continued walking while straightening my hair.
I got up to the front and looked at the whole class room. In the front was this boy. He looked very charming. He was just staring at me to.
"Miss. Smith" the math teacher says.
"Oh sorry" I say. But yet that boy. He was still staring but now he was smiling. "Um I'm Marilyn Smith."
"And where are you from?" The teacher asked.
"Im from Salt lake High."
"Thanks Miss Smith you may have a seat."
I walk back to my desk and sit through that boring class.
The bell finally rings and I start to science. All of a sudden I feel this tap on my shoulder. I turn around and it's that boy.
"New girl" he says in a squeaky voice. "Your the new girl everyone is talking about." I felt so nervous. What are they saying about me?
"Uh what are they saying?"
"Now why would I tell you that?"
"Sorry"
"Well your beautiful. They are saying your weird and ugly. But your beautiful. To me."
"Um thanks?" I said with a sad voice. I didn't know it but I started to cry. Why would these people say that when they don't even know me?
"Hey hey hey. It's fine don't listen to them. Your beautiful. Sit with me at lunch?" He asked.
"Sure" I say wiping my tears on my flannel.
It came to be lunch and I go and sit with him. Him. I don't even know his name.
I walk to him and ask "what's your name?"
"Leo" he says. "Sit down"
We talk all through lunch about ourselves. It seems we have a lot in common. But he has a girlfriend. That made me mad. He said she's a senior. We are only sophomores so no wonder why he's dating her. She's epically popular so I had no chance. But what I wondered was why would he tell me I'm beautiful if his dating someone?
Lunch was over with and I finish off the day. Pretty boring since Leo wasn't in my classes.
At the end of the day I start walking home because I didn't see Leo. But then I hear a honk and it's Leo. He says "Hop in!" So I hop in.
"Where do you live" Leo asks.
"Downtown" I answer.
"You walk from downtown? I'll give you a ride to and from school from now on. Pick you up at 7:30 tomorrow."
"Ok"
We talked all the way to my house. I wanted to stay with him but I knew I couldn't. He has a girlfriend. What kind of person invades on a relationship. What if his girlfriend sees him taking me home?
It came to be night and I went to bed in my unicorn pajamas. I let my eyes shut to the movement of my ceiling fan. I fell asleep softly as I dreamt about Leo breaking up with his girlfriend for me. That's how you could tell it was a dream.
