CHAPTER 6:

I closed the chest. The sight of death for the person who took care of me, was just too unbearable. I couldn't believe she was gone.

I remembered that day I left, a lot more vividly. I couldn't forget those deadly hawk eyes watching me, as I left my home. I wish I could've been there for my mom, before she died.

I could've prevented this somehow, someway. But I don't even know how this happened.

----------------

I began to walk around the living room in the dark. It was still pitch black outside, and I swore I could hear wolves howling at the full moon. Tonight was officially the creepiest night ever.

I came to the giant picture of "my father" again, and gazed at the person I longed to see my whole life.

I walked a little closer, yearning to get a closer look, and then it happened.

A single flame lit up a candle, on top of the piano, in the corner of the room.

I wasn't alone.

I walked closer to the painting even more, and another candle lit up. This was completely supernatural.

I inched toward the piano, just as the chandelier began to swing.

"Was this really happening?" I thought. "I must be going crazy. There was someone trying to make me leave. I didn't understand who or why, but this was really happening."

"Was the paranormal real? Did ghosts really exist?"

I couldn't come up with a logical reason for the activity that was going on. I just asumed it was a random evil spirit after me, or some other crazy mythical story.

----------------

I noticed a light shine from out the window. I moved toward it, as the blade of a knife skimmed my back. I immediately felt a sharp pain.

I turned around, and nothing was there.

I moved to the mirror in front of the wall, to look at my back. It read, in my own blood, "Save yourself while you still can."

As soon as I said it outloud, I was sorry.

A wind swept me off my feet, slamming me into the glass, shattering the mirror. My hair was filled with the blood, from my cut up head.

"Is this what happened to my mom?"

I yelled, "Who are you!? Show yourself!"

The spirit turned into a half human form. It was my mom!

"Honey, you must get out of here! He is coming for you!" She said. "It is not safe here. Please leave while you still can."

"Who is after me? And who hurt you?" I asked.

She was just about to answer as a wind faded her form. That was the only way I could come in contact with her.

I did as my mom wanted, and tried to leave. I ran toward the door, as it slammed in my face.

The spirit finally held me in the air. I started thinking about the monster I was going to see.

"I saw him. His face was as clear as ever. But why? This didn't make any sense. Why would Josh do this?"
