A waitress took Dad and I to a table next to the window facing the car park. I'm glad it was this one who sat us down and not the lady taking our order... she could have looked nice if she didn't buy out the nearest piercing store. You don't have to have 20 rings in your lips to look cool. When seated, Dad took his napkin and did the fancy flick to the side and then gently placed it on his lap thing with the poshest face imaginable which then sent me laughing so hard that I forgot to breathe. The family beside us looked at me with the most quizzical looks imaginable. The girl had her eyebrow raised so high it might have disappeared into her brown hair. By the way, she has nice eyes. I have a habit of noticing people's eyes... I have a lot of weird habits.
When dinner arrives I honestly feel like a person who has been starving for months, I swear I finished that chicken parmy faster than Usain Bolt ran the 100 metres. Dad doesn't find it weird anymore but I am cautious when with other people to pace myself. I then had to wait another 10 minutes for Dad to eat his steak.
"Hurry up Dad!" I say as I steal his chips.
"Well if you didn't aspire to be a vacuum we wouldn't be in this situation now would we?" Dad stuffs his last mouthful into mouth.
"Ok are you done now?" I ask getting out of my chair.
"Sadie, Sadie, so impatient!" He says as he catches up to me before picking me up and carries me out to the car.

"So Sadie, you won't have a bed until tomorrow but I did take your mattress out of the packing." Dad says as he opens the door to the house.
"That's fine. I'm not going to die I guess." I shrug my shoulders and then push Dad through the door.
My room is filled with boxes of all sizes placed randomly through my room. My mattress sits snugly against the wall. I lay down and put my phone onto my lap where it suddenly buzzes. I sigh and bring it up into view.
Jess - So whatever happened to that call?
Jess - Or did you lie? Are you really going to the moon but didn't want me to get jealous?
Jess - Hey... Finish the lyric that way there I know you are on Earth... Jealosy...
This is what happens when someone has this song for her drama performance and it becomes an inside joke. The part of the play had this person had passed out and people were trying so hard to get them back into consciousness but nothing was working until some guy came past with a speaker playing Mr Brightside and the person shot up and finished the lyrics. It was the most beautiful and random production that school had ever seen. So I text back
Me - Turning saints into the sea...
Me - Sorry... I'm not saying that I forgot but... I forgot... but I would have rung you eventually...
Jess - fine you're forgiven... but only because you finished the lyric so how is everything?
Me - Actually it is really good up here and the house is soooo cool but other than that there is nothing exciting going on.
Me - But I am going to go to the beach tomorrow... it looks so pristine!
Jess - OMG tell me all about it afterwards
Me - it's just a beach, not a date... no need to get that excited
Jess - oh ok sorry I meant *cue deadpan expression and tone* oh yay the beach...
Me - hahaha
Jess - Ugggghhhhh Mum's telling me to go to sleep
Jess - and she wants my phone out of my room UGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Jess - ok goodnight then
Me - goodnight
And only 20 minutes later I was out like a light.

Somehow I found the box with my swimmers. You would not believe how many boxes are labelled clothes that have no clothes in them. Trust Dad to clean up my room! Then again... if I had done it it would have been a lot easier but hey, I didn't and so I'm going to move on with my life. Jess bought these swimmers for me for my birthday last year. They are a one piece mix of blue and green swirls. I love them.
I left a note on the table for Dad telling him that I was going to see the beach that sat behind us. I don't know if he is asleep or working but I was only in a mood for the beach and not finding missing people. So at the back of our backyard there is an nice picket white fence and a gate that matches. After opening the gate, I take the short sandy path down the to beach. The sand is so soft! And it is endless! I think I'm dreaming... no wait... if I was dreaming there would be a lot of screaming... anyway... I don't even run into the water at first, I just sit where the water runs up to greet me before running back to its mother for comfort. But after a while I can't help myself anymore and run into the welcoming waves, letting the (very) cold morning water wash over me. I turned around to face the house but the view was obstructed by a person... a boy in fact. Recently pushed aside wet brown hair threatens to cover his bright blue eyes but he just stands there, watching.
"Sorry." He said. "But your about to get hit!"
So turns out he wasn't looking at me but he was looking at the wave that smacked the living crap out of me and shoved my face into the ground. When I get up (after I had tried to get the sand out of my swimmers without being seen) all I can see is the boy laughing so hard, he almost inhales water on so many occasions.
"You were like 'ahhh!' and then you were like 'AHHH!'"he laughs some more, making weird faces to match the 'ahh's.
"Oh Nathan! Leave her alone!" Another voice calls out. The girl who the voice belongs to was apparently there the whole time but I just failed to see as, you know, I had a frickin massive wave just pound drive me!
"Seriously! No wonder you can't get a girlfriend!" The girl has a look of hopelessness on her face as she says this... it is quite entertaining if you ask me. But I can swear that I've seen her face somewhere before.
"Well seeming that you can't get a boyfriend, I think that that insult is a bit flat Lucy!" Nathan sneers and flops into an oncoming wave.
"Sorry about that." Lucy says, "He's always been a dickhead, even from when we were toddlers! If you hadn't already heard, I'm Lucy, and that thing over there is my brother Nathan... my unfortunate excuse for a twin." I can definitely see the resemblance. The same shade of chestnut hair, the deep but yet light blue eyes, same face shape... yep resemblance complete.
"I'm Sadie, I just moved here yesterday." I point out to my house, "We live at the one with the white fence."
Lucy's eyes almost popped out of her head. "So you don't have to walk for 10 minutes to get here? It is just like, pretty much in your backyard? That is so co-" I don't hear the rest because another big wave hit me right in the ear and throws me under. When we return to the surface, Lucy's face has a sudden realisation.
"Hey, you were that girl last night who couldn't stop laughing right?" She asks. So that's where I've seen her before...
