“Uh… Party Poison? Throttle Ignition? Can I come in?” Dr Deathdefying’s voice was gruff and a tad embarrassed.

I shut up laughing immediately, wiping a few tears from my eyes as Poison did the same. We looked at each other before choking out in voices iced with humour ‘come in!’

Dr D walked in, scratching the back of his black hair and avoiding eye contact with us. A smile tugged at my lips, but my heart and head were so confused.

Me and Poison were getting along! We’d kissed!

What’d happened to the angry, I-hate-Throttle-Ignition Drac killer that’d refused for me to get in the Trans-Am and join the Killjoys?

Where had he gone? And why was he being replaced by this funny, nice guy who made my heart thud a mile a minute?

I shook my head, everything’s to confusing right now to deal with this.

“Yes?” I asked, focusing on Dr D and not Party Poison sitting chuckling softly beside me.

“Uh… are you okay now, Throttle?” Dr D asked, fiddling with his long hair and the black bandanna pulled around it.

“Yes.” I smiled, “I’m fine now. I really don’t know what, uh… happened earlier. I’m so sorry for messing everything up. I understand why Poison said he didn’t want a girl with the Fabulous Killjoys; I’m mucking it all up. I’ll understand if you think I’m too much trouble and want me to leave…”

Dr D looked taken back,

“What? No, you’re fine here, Throttle. No trouble at all. You’ve been through some hard shit today, you need to rest. Life ain’t gonna get easier from here on in.” I nodded,

“I understand. And… thank you. For everything.” Dr D smiled, his white teeth showing against his browned skin.

“Good bye. I’ll see you in the morning. Poison, let her have her rest. The rest of the guys should be back soon, it’s getting late.”

With that, Dr D walked out of the room, calling a bye and shutting the door and leaving me and Poison alone once again.

“Throttle.” Poison said.

“Mmm?” I asked, looking down at my lap. I realised that I was still only wearing Green Day panties and Jet Star’s Iron Maiden tee. Oh well.

“Throttle, look at me.” Poison said, only more firm this time.

“Okay.” I whispered, raising my head to look at Party Poison who was staring right back into my eyes.

“I’m so sorry about yesterday. About being a jerk when we first met and everything. I messed it up, and… you’re really not all that bad. So, urm… can you forgive me?” Poison was red as he spoke the words that touched my heart. I know it’s hard for him; coming out with his feelings when he normally keeps them hidden. That much I know of him from only knowing him for little over a day. And most of that time I spent unconscious.

I nodded. It seems words can’t make up what I am feeling right this second.

“Throttle?” Poison asked a smile on the edge of his lips. He looks so nice when he smiles, I thought, day-dreaming.

“Huh?” I asked, snapped out of my day-dream about Party Poison.

“Will you except my apology and stop me feeling like a fool?” He asked; friendly annoyance flashing across his face.

I grinned, a happy laugh escaping my lips.

“Yes, I do except your apology, Party Poison of the Fabulous Killjoys!” Poison smiled,

“Stop it,” He joked, “But… thank you. I know I’m not always the best to get along with. But I realised I should stop acting like a grumpy old man with constipation and more like the young, fit and handsome lad I am.” I laughed,

“Yeah right. You, young, fit and handsome?” I ‘pffted’ and let out a laugh, Poison faking hurt.

But inside I couldn’t agree with him more.

“So, uh… now that’s all cleared up, I’d better let you get your sleep else Dr D won’t be too happy…” Poison got of the bed where he’d been sitting opposite to me and stretched his legs, lifting his t-shirt as he stretched with a yawn and showing me his thin, lean stomach. I actually had to stop myself from swooning!

I watched as he approached the door, turning the handle and swinging open the door. Just as he was about to step out, I stopped him,

“Poison!” Party Poison turned around, eyes trained on me.

I felt my cheeks blossom with red as his eyes narrowed,

“Yes?” He asked, studying my features.

“Good night.” I smiled, getting under the covers.

“Good night.” Poison smiled back at me.

“Oh, no, wait!” I cried as he shut the door. Instantly it swung back open and Poison popped his head back up again, confused. But, luckily not angry.

“Yes… again?” He asked, smirking slightly.

“Poison. Uh, where am I?” Poison laughed,

“In the Diner. Have you got concussion?”

“No!” I laughed along with him, “No, I mean, whose bedroom is this? It’s not the room with the sofa where I was last night.”

“Oh.” Party Poison said, “It’s, uh… my room. I hope you don’t mind…” He trailed of, looking embarrassed.

I smiled,

“Oh, no! I don’t mind at all!”

“Oh, okay, well, I’ll be off then. See you in the morning, Throttle.” He nodded a good bye as I bid him adios,

“Good bye Party Poison. See you tomorrow. Sweet dreams.”

“Sweet dreams.” He said before closing the door softly and leaving me to my thoughts.

I snuggled further down in the duvet and sighed a relaxing sigh as my aches and pains slipped away into the creases and folds of the feathery, downy quilt in a tidal wave of happiness.
