It's set during the gang's return to school. Bev is gone. Mike has decided to go to public school. Richie is determined to survive high school. He's also determined to forget about It and what really happened in the clown filled room.

Beverly's kindergarten best friend moves back to Derry the same year It comes to town. She's a lot different then how Beverly remembered. She's shy and nervous and full of anxiety. Bev is determined to reinstate her kindergarten best friend back to her formal badass self. Bev is successful because Victoria wants to impress her old friend just as much as she wants to defeat It.
Wise Guy (Stanley Uris)
Elina's about to be mitzvah but her dad doesn't think she's ready. He asks the rabbi if he knows anyone who can help her study. The rabbi automatically suggests his son Stanley who's own mitzvah was coming up too. Stanley ends up tutoring her in school too. She finds him annoying and teases him about his OCD constantly. After she triggers one of his attacks, the two get closer and she's much nicer to the boy.
