Eye Candy

Chapter 5

Here we are, Sky's the limit- club & bar, open to anyone over 21 and those with fake IDs that make it past the gigantic and scary bouncers. I occasionally would come here, you know, on those days when you just need a to dance the loneliness away and maybe even get drunk off your ass in the process.

Kate parks her little car, followed by us hopping out and re-adjust our goods. Now waiting in the small line that would set us at the heavily guarded doors into the building. "Hey Anne, my man!" Joey, the beefy bouncer smiled down at me. "What are you doing here?" he asked, and Kate now looking this huge man over, responded for me. "To dance of course, maybe get a bit tipsy, to be honest." Kate laughed "you know, the usual." He chuckled, handing both of us our IDs back before opening the large door for us.

The room seemed to pulse from the heavy bass, it had a buzz that made your mind go numb, the bodies on the dance floor moved in smooth motions, yet rapid to the beat. We settled into tall bar stools, that overlooked the whole club. I waved towards the bartender, Teddy was mixing drinks for some tall blonde with an annoying giggle. If that's what you would even call it, she sounded more crow-ish to me. After finishing and serving her drink, he moved to our end of the rounded bar.

"Hey Annie, has Sky seen you yet?" I shake my head no, "not yet, but you have to meet my friend Kate. Kate, Teddy; Teddy, Kate."i introduce them by gesturing from one friend to the next. They said their hello's and Kate ordered her drink, "Do you think I can get a cloud 9?" he started to mix up the heavily alcoholic brew. "Anne, you want a Cloud 9, like Kate? It's Kate right?"  She nodded, for you really couldn't hear over the music. 

Teddy turned beck to me. "Come on Annie, It's newww." he tweaked the curl of his mustache and grinned at me, he often wanted me to try new things, but I like what I like and I don't plan on changing that. "Nah Ted, I'll just have the usual." he scoffed then began making my drink too. "Seven mins in Heaven coming right up, baby girl." Kate sucked down her drink with ease, "hey you wanna come dance with me?" Laughing/yelling I answer, "No I'm gonna wait on Sky. We'll catch up you later, go have fun!"

I swayed to the beat on my singled out bar stool. Waiting on Sky, she's the owner of this club, sweet as can be at 5'4, but like always nowhere to be found. I suddenly felt hands wrap around my shoulders, curious I angle my head to see who might this person be; and why the hell the thought it was appropriate to touch me, especially from behind. Speak of the Devil, and they appear, right?

Ya, not this time.... a tall man, with a slender fit physique but definitely not unattractive in fact he was the exact opposite. He had a very mature look to him, sort of like good uncle vibe, maybe? But that doesn't make any sense to why he would want me to talk to him. He smiled and then after couple seconds, that smile faded, I'm sure he realized I wasn't the person he was looking for.

"Oh you're not Madeline," he apologized. "Haha, no I'm not. Anne to be exact." I stuck my hand out to greet him properly. He shook his head, before apologizing again and leaving.

So weird.... must have been drunk.

Turning back to my drink that was finally placed in front of me.

Watching a group of girls come in, already drunk off their asses. "Hey, Teddy keep an eye on the rat pack, that just came in." He looked up from his just finished glass, it was polished dry, "oh, ya they aren't gonna make it," setting it with the others on the shelf. Pulling a walkie-talkie from his apron pocket he called whoever, "Hey Mikey, ya can you call this rat pack a taxi, ya 10 o'clock, the teased hair and fake eyelashes." 

There was a pause for every time 'Mikey' spoke, and every time I had no clue what he was saying, "ya." Pause. "Yeah, ok." Pause. "Thanks, Mikey." He hung up shortly after. "That was Mikey." he smiled.
