In my dream I was surrounded by trees. Fog crept and crawled along the forest floor littered with leaves. A doe stood in front of me, listening. Large black eyes rimmed with thick lashes darted back and forth surveying the area around her. She quietly made her way to a small creek for a drink of water. I followed her, silent and transparent, like my other dreams.Even though I heard nothing, the doe stiffened and her ears perked up. Fast as the wind, she leapt across the stream and took off through the trees - rushing through me, a pack of wolves descended. I watched as they surrounded her. I watched her panic and sprint as fast as she could. I watched them flank her and tear through her legs. I heard her shrieking out as blood ran across the leaves. I stared in horror at their gnashing teeth dripping with it, and then I woke.
