Eren's POV

The sun was going down and Mikasa and I were finishing cleaning up the mess hall. Captain Levi had left us on duty today since everyone else was busy with their own tasks, pretty unfair but no complaints. I'd rather be stuck cleaning the mess hall rather than the latrines. Just thinking about it sends shivers up my spine.

As I finished wiping the tables, I could hear faint footsteps echoing down the halls. I looked up over at Mikasa, she kept on cleaning. I assumed she didn't hear it since she was on the opposite side of the room.

I placed my cloth down and carefully tip toed out of the area, making sure not to make a single noise. If my shoe squeaked once, she would be right on my tail.

Once I was out of the mess hall, I glanced down the corridors. By looking right I saw Captain Ackerman walking my way, a bored expression on his face as usual. As he grew closer, I realized that he didn't look bored... He looked pissed. At first he was angrily walking down the halls, but once he spotted me he brought his anger in my direction.

I knew that I wasn't going to live through whatever was going to happen.

I just knew I wouldn't.

Once I was within arm reach, he grabbed me by the collar and pushed me against the wall. The air was nearly knocked out of my lungs from such a hard collision.

"Is there something you want to tell me you little shit," he growled out.

My eyes nervously danced around and my heart raced, I honestly didn't know what to say. Was there something he wanted me to tell him? If so, can he tell me?

"I apologize captain... But what's the problem?" I winced a little, expecting to be hit or thrown onto the floor.

Instead, he laughed. Not a heartfelt joyful laugh, if he even knew how to do that, but instead it was a soft, maniacal laugh. Starting off low, then growing a bit more senile and evil sounding by the minute.

"So you're telling me," he pulled a piece of paper out of the pocket of his jacket," that this paper doesn't belong to you?"

I squinted to read what was on the paper:

I can't take it anymore. Being around Captain Ackerman drives me insane, just the sight of him makes my mind feel jumbled. I know I can't hide my feelings forever, but I know that I can't tell him how I feel either. This is such a pain in the ass.

I gasped," you read my journal?!"

"You have a problem with it Jaeger?"

"Uh yeah!" I glared at him," you read my journal! My private journal!"

"Well it isn't so private if you have it lying open on your desk."

"A desk located in a room that is supposed to be mine... Why were you even in there?"

"Enough of these questions Jaeger," he stepped closer until our faces were inches apart," if you want to complain about me, say it to my face instead of crying about it to your little diary."

"It's a journal, not a diary!"

"Tch. Diary, journal, whatever. But if you want to complain, say it now."
