Eddie sat on his couch and watched the television mindlessly. He wasn't really focused on it, but on seeing Richie soon. The two had gotten together shortly after their first encounter at the Neilbolt house, when Richie snuck in through the window to check on Eddie. They were in the midst of everything going on with It, but Richie had told Eddie he didn't want to wait for things to get better, because Eddie 'made things better'.

For two weeks after Bill punched Richie, everything was quiet. They were all waiting for It to strike again, each day becoming more anxious. His thoughts were interrupted by his mother looming over him.

"Hi momma..." Eddie looked up at her.

"Tell me it isn't true." Her face was twisted in disgust as she stared at her son. "Tell me you aren't dating Richie Tozier."

Eddie swallows and looks at his hands again. "I'm sorry momma..."

"You have to break up with him!" Her voice was shrill, panicked even. He began to say something but she cut him off.

"Break up with him! I'm not joking Eddie, I have your best interest in mind. But if you don't do it, you can't live under my roof."

Eddie's jaw dropped. His mom was actually threatening to kick him out? He couldn't break up with Richie... he loved him. But the look on his moms face, she was disgusted, she was angry. And Eddie picked up the phone.
