Riley clenched his jaw and unexpectedly punched his fist across the Slayer's cheek. Graham broke his restraint and threw down the soldier he was fighting. He stalked over to his friend and punched him with a powerful to the ground. He gripping Riley by his black uniform and continued to punch his face with one strong blow after another. Graham stood straight letting go of Riley. He backed away and watched the man slowly rise to his feet holding his profusely bleeding nose. Graham spun kicked Riley into his stomach sending him to the ground flat on his back. A move Buffy had taught him.
Graham felt Buffy's hand on his shoulder and he immediately calmed letting go of Riley's collar. He stood taking Riley's walkie-talkie from his utility belt. "Base One, this is Lilac One. Send cleanup."
"Copy that." A scratchy voice sounded.
"Base One... General." Graham was well aware a General was listening to the line in a small room across the ocean safe as houses. "If you ever come back here and threaten my family again the Slayer will destroy the Initiative troops into nothing. And I won't stop her." He dropped the walkie-talkie letting it shatter into pieces.
"Graham...?" Riley said in a weak voice.
"The medics are coming." Graham knelt to his former friend.
"W-where's Sam?" Riley slowly sat up sore.
"Probably, outside wondering how could she have had married a man who is still in love with his ex." Graham held out his hand for Riley to take helping him onto his feet.
Riley wiped the blood from under his nose. "Where did you learn to throw a punch?" He tried to joke.
Graham smirked and nodded his head toward Buffy standing in the background. "Where do you think? She'd kick my ass if I couldn't throw a decent punch."
The old friends shared a light laugh.
Graham's face fell and stepped dangerously close Riley. "If you ever touch my wife again... you won't be able to speak ever again."
Graham turned his back to Riley and moved back to Buffy circling an arm around her shoulders.
"We are definitely taking a serious hooky day." Buffy sighed and watched two men help Riley out of the Academy.
"I've got an idea," Graham began and turned her in his arms. "we'll pull Ryder from daycare and go to the park."
"And ice cream?" Buffy asked hopefully.
"Well, of course what kind of hooky day would it be without ice cream?" Buffy grinned up at her husband and hugged his waist with her arm. Graham kissed the top of her head heading into the direction of the day care
