I was so excited. I can't believe the band made it. Or is this a joke.
I flip it over and see a note.
Dear Tori,
We finally are getting somewhere. We have a big concert this Saturday. We sold over 500 tickets. I saved this for you, maybe to make up for not spending a lot of time with you lately. Text me when you get this pleaseee!
Love,
Calum.
I'm really happy for him. I kinda have to be supportive of him considering his family doesn't care about the band. Calum sorta dropped his studies soon after the band started. His parents were upset and told him that they disagreed with the band. He came to me crying that night, and I decided I could be the "stage mom" from there on out.
I decided to call him instead of text. I wanted to hear his voice. Plus he never answers my texts anymore. I dialed his number. It rang twice before I heard the band playing and Calum yelling "shut up!".
"Is this a bad time?" I asked.
"Great time actually! Come down to the new studio. I want you to listen to our new song." I could hear his excitement.
"Sure. I'll be there soon."
"Love you," he beamed.
"Love you too, Cal." Then I hung up.
I went to my room and threw on some pants and a t-shirt that showed I liked drummers. Which, if you knew Ashton, you would understand. I put on some Toms and grabbed my keys and left.
It didn't take me long to get to the studio. It's only a five minute drive. When I got there, Calum was standing outside with a dorky grin on his face. I couldn't help but smile. I got out of my car and he walked towards me with his arms out. I ran up to him and hugged him. It felt nice to have my best friend back. He hugged me for a long time.
"Can't. Breathe." I muttered. He let me go.
"Sorry. God I've missed you. So have the boys. C'mon." He gestured to the studio and started walking, and I followed. We walked down a hallway in silence.
"Ashton is going to love that shirt," Calum said, breaking the silence. I giggled.
We stopped at a door and Calum pushed it open and announced that I was here.
"Hey, Tori," Michael said.
"Missed you, Toriiiii," Luke drew the i out.
"Nice shirt," Ashton winked at me.
"Why, thank you," I curtsied.
"Stop looking at her rack!" Calum shouted and jumped in front of me. We all laughed.
"Just like old times," Michael muttered.
We walked into a lounge room next to the recording room. We sat down on couches. I was between Calum and Ashton. Luke and Michael sat across from us on a different couch.
"How many tickets?" I asked
"Five-hundred-and-thirty-eight," (538) Michael said without missing a beat.
"Wow," I muttered.
"So, drummers, huh?" Ashton smirked at me.
"I've heard they're pretty hot. I guess I've never really ever seen a real drummer," I laughed.
"Stop flirting. Ew," Calum said.
"I'm incapable of flirting. You know that," I giggled.
"Bullshit," Calum muttered. And once again, we all laughed. Luke started naming Calum's hook ups. Ashton told me that he was single a total of 14 times. Michael told me about the gigs and how they were doing fan wise. Calum told me about how Luke was lying. We laughed for hours.
