"Ok class, remember that the spring fling is tomorrow night." Said Mrs. Justine.
"Spring fling is just tomorrow and I still don't have a date. Great. Just great." -Caity
"Don't worry about it. You don't NEED a date for the dance." -Kyla
"Yeah sure. I'll just go alone like every year."
"Just keep your mind off of it. It'll make you feel better."
"Okay I guess your right. Lets go, I hate this class."
The girls leave the classroom and notice that there's a big group of kids standing in a circle.
"What's going on?" -Caity
"Oh the pop kids are making fun of the people who don't have dates for tomorrow." Said a random student who overheard Caity's question.
"Kyla we better get out of here. Next thing we know they're gonna be picking on us."
"Where do we go? They're blocking the door to our next class."
"Let's just make a run for it."
"Okay. Lets hope for the best haha."
Caity and Kyla try to ignore the yelling teens waiting for the girls to walk by.
"Hey! You! Blonde hair!" Said one of the pop kids.
"Just ignore them Caity. Go to the classroom." -Kyla
"I said hey! You better answer me!" The pop kid yelled getting every student in the hallways attention.
"Who's your date for the dance? Go on, tell us."
"Uh well about th-"
"You don't have one, do you?"
"I.. I um.. "
"HAHA that's what I thought! Just another dateless girl in this school."
"IM HER DATE!" Yelled Kyla.
Every student looks directly at Kyla, then Caity, then back to Kyla. They all gave a big gasp and started to laugh.
"You mean, your taking another girl as your date? HAHAHAHA!!!"
"Well I mean.. Uh.."
"Yes she is. And we aren't ashamed at all so you can mind your own business or I'll make you." -Kyla
"OOOOOOHHHH" said all of the students making up the circle.
"Let's go, Caity."
The girls casually walk to their next class side by side ignoring all of the people looking at them.
"Kyla you didn't have to do that for me..." -Caity
"It's ok. I wanted too."
"I'm so glad I have you." -Caity
"I'm so glad I have YOU."
As the class goes on, every student stares at them until the end of the class.
The bell rings and the girls walk out to their lockers together.
Meanwhile, gossip is still wandering throughout the school.
"Hey guys! I'm so proud that your not afraid to show who you are!" Said one of the girls random friends.
"Yeah, me too.. I guess?" -Caity
"Stay strong! Xoxo!"
"Um.. Kyla? Are we.. Um.. Actually going to the dance together?"
"Oh um.. I thought you wanted to?"
