Chapter 2: The Highway

The next morning I was still guarding my

pharaoh and his hikari. I was very surprised when I heard their front door, making think fast to hide my body, but mostly legs, that were hanging over the edge of second story roof.

I had ducked just in time to get out of the visual of my master, before he could see me when he looked my way.

'Damn, I'm seriously losing my touch! What I that twice he's almost caught me?' I thought in frustration toward my careless.

"Hey, Yami, what's wrong?" Yugi asked in worry.

"Nothing. I just thought I saw something, but I guess I'm just a little paranoid after last night." My pharaoh said while turning away, in his usual deep voice. Which made me want to hit my head on the roof in shame and embarrassment, which I did, in fact, do.

'I am such a screw up!' I told myself in my head.

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of two car doors closing. I quickly lifted my head to see my pharaoh and his hikari getting in their midnight blue sports car.

'Hum...... wonder where they're going.'

I jumped down from the roof when they were far away enough to not see me. I quickly used my shadow magic to construct my golden motorcycle with Egyptian symbols covering it on every angle.

I revved up the engine with a turn of the wrist, and was off.

(On the Road)

I was a few cars behind my pharaoh's sports car to make sure nothing looked too suspicious. Though I still made sure I could keep a visual of them.

Then, I saw them turn off into the exit that leads off the highway we were on. The one nobody else was going on.

"Damn! No cover there." I said aloud to myself before turning into the turn lane to the exit.

When I got off the highway a thought crossed my mind, "This road leads to the outskirts of the city," I paused, then continued, "What could they be doing out there?"

The reason I wondered was because, if my memory serves me right, the only thing out this direction was the old, abandoned town. There wasn't hardly even any building still standing, let alone stable.

'This could definitely lead to trouble.' I thought before speeding up to stay close to my master.

~Little did I know what about to happen.~

Then all of a sudden I felt a strong serge of shadow magic and an evil presence heading this way fast.

I looked over to the old forest on my right, where the serge originated. All of a sudden, I heard wood and trees breaking, snapping, and crushed with ease.

Then, a giant grey shadow monster, that looked like a Thanator, ( If you don't know what it is just google it) came crashing out of the forest roaring loudly.
