My First Story

New Friend

After a while of walking alongside some cliffs in the noon sun (Alisha hadn't ever slept that late) Alisha heard movement nearby. Wondering what it could be, she approached the noise, only to round a corner of the rocks beside her and come face to face with a boy who seemed equally shocked to encounter her. He had long, untidy hair as if he never bothered to groom it. His eye color was red, which was peculiar considering he clearly wasn't albino, hinted at by his dark brown hair.

After a pause, the boy started "Uh, hi. The name's Derek" he proclaimed.

Alisha, almost recovered, stated "I'm Alisha Luceat"

"Pleasure meeting you. What brings you all the way out here?"

"I'm dealing with some stress, everyone's putting pressure on me"

"I'm afraid I can't sympathize" He shuffles for a bit, uncertain of his next words "you're the first person I've seen in years"

"Why is that?"

Derek stopped, thinking carefully "I guess you could say I'm in hiding." He looked up, realizing how he sounded "I'm not a criminal or anything, I just usually like to be alone"

They continued to chat for a while, discussing life in the forest and life in the city, while Derek led Alisha to his cabin.

"And here we are. Isn't it nice?"

"Yeah, I guess it does look pretty good."

Alisha followed Derek inside, impressed by how good it looked, directly contradicting his general appearance. The wooden walls accompanied by the soft rug and active fireplace made the whole place seem cozy. Derek led her to a comfortable chair and asked her to sit.

"I'm going to go prepare some food. You just make yourself home"

The guy was nice... too nice? It was a little suspicious. Still, maybe he just was a recluse with a kind heart. I can't forget my training, just in case.

(Story has been terminated to make way for the more refined and prepared story, Of Darkness and Light, which will hopefully boast superior writing skills, better characters, and a better paced plot)
