Ghost is a controlling force that took over Kim. What I mean by that is that Kim created Ghost. Kim's insecurities and fears combined to make Ghost, a mean, ruthless, Zane-Obsessed Being that possesses Kim, and Kim only. Well I mean she does possess Lucinda at one point but that will come up later. So Kim is a sweet, and kind human, or at least as far as we know, that is also very mysterious because we know very little about her. So my theory is that Kim is afraid that she is mean and ruthless, and she has a fear of never being loved, and ending up in love with Zane, so Ghost is really a personified into a really powerful being, that actually crossed over the border from nonexistence to the real world. This means for Kim to over come Ghost she has to either become confident or to feel loved. Now to explain how Ghost possesses Lucinda would take a lot of convincing for you Garrence shippers out there, but going on the fan theory that Lucinda likes Laurence we can assume that because Kim also liked Laurence, at a point, she was able to somehow connect to Lucinda making it possible for Ghost to possess Lucinda. To put it into English; To posses another, you must have a form of connection to them, wether it be a similarity in desire for love, similar likings, or a similar hatred to things. If we assume that Lucinda and Kim both had feelings for Laurence at a point in high school then the bridge between them could be more stable, but because Lucinda was dating Ivan at the time she might not have had the same feelings for Laurence as Kim did at that time. But if we assume that Lucinda currently likes Laurence, then the connection may be week but stable enough for Ghost to pass through. Arguably you could say that Ghost could have possessed Aph as well but she had a small crush on Laurence, not a strong enough one to create a connection as strong as the one between Lucinda and Kim.
