Hi guys! This is a story about a girl dealing with problems in life. I know this sounds typical, but her sister plays a major role. Her sister was born with cerebral palsy, scoliosis, and it's all because of her mom getting CMV when she was four months pregnant with her. This actually has to do with my life, since 'her sister' is actually my sister (: But please read on! <3
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't even know how to begin this. My life is just so different from others, and I wonder: Is something wrong with me?
I'm a 15 year old freshman at Clintwood High. My hair is medium length and matches my eyes, with a deep chocolate color. I'm neither pale nor really tan, but I do have a fair complexion.
My family consists of 8 people total. Both of my parents are 33 and young. My older sister was born with cerebral palsy and has had some complications. She is only 16 years old and blind, deaf, and unable to speak. Then there's me: The second oldest, hard working, and responsible child.
I have 3 younger sisters and 1 brother. Altogether we're a pretty average family besides my sister's medical conditions.

~Memory from 12 years old~
"Mom, can I have a cookie before you leave?" My parents had business to take care of, and so I stayed home with only my older sister.
"Yes, but chew carefully ok?" she asked. I nodded before hesitantly running into the kitchen.
I propped up a chair as I watched the car pull out of the driveway and onto the open road through the small window above my brother's bed.
~End of Flashback~
After cleaning up the house as I would normally do, I watched TV and listened for my older sister, Aubrey.
All I knew was that anytime I saw spit around her mouth, I would turn the suction cannister on and suction her mouth with the wand.
That was when my life was much simpler. I wasn't expected to clean, do dishes, so I usually just lied around most of the time.
That was when I was in seventh grade. I was so happy! I had a boyfriend in eighth grade, a happy family life, and life was just so freaking simple!
But soon after, things complicated... for both me and Aubrey.
The end of the school year was nearing and eighth graders were graduating. I cried because my boyfriend would move to high school without me.
During summer break, I moved, but I still went to the same school. I'll never forget the first night we moved in. May 23, 2012..
~Flashback (Again sorry)~
The moving truck sat in park, backed up against the stairs of our new house. I watched my parents bring out Aubrey's heavy hospital bed, and saw them sigh in relief when they sat it down.
Aubrey was then situated after her bed was set up. Scooting past dressers and couches cluttered in the living room, I sat down and ate Little Caesar's Pizza, and took a swig of lemon lime.
I hear my mom suddenly scream, "Ronnie! Have Kristen start the car! Hurry!"
I ran as fast as my feet could carry me and I started the car. I watched Mom bring Aubrey into the van and speed off into the night, the look of fear staining her face.
~End of Flashback~
That was the worst summer of my life. My mom had seen Aubrey's toe black, and assumed a spider bit her. She then found out it had been a blood clot.
After being in the hospital for a couple of days, Aubrey's lungs began to fail. A trache was placed immediately.
She came home with more equipment, including a ventilator, an O2 SAT and pulse monitor, and much more.
My mom had been gone that whole summer as she had stayed in the hospital with Aubrey. I remember crying so much, missing her right after she left from visits.
Aubrey then needed Home Aide, or LPN nurses at our house.
And ever since May 23, 2012 , our lives have changed completely ....

So as I said, this is all 100% true!
I'm not looking for pity. I'm just wanting to share our story with the world. If you read this, thanks so very much. I've always believed she's God's special person (:
