It was a gloomy and chilly night, Hax sworn that he slept so peacefully. His sleep was then interrupted by loud noises in the kitchen. His parents n him were woken up by that noise. It got them stunted for a moment, figuring what was the caused of it.

"Honey, would you be kind to check what happened downstairs? Please? I'm feeling very groggy," Hax's mom, Jolyn asked. His dad, Wayne was reluctantly getting up from bed just to please her request. Wayne always had a baseball bat inside his closet for precaution, so he took it in this case. He saw Hax looking at him terrifyingly. Even though it was pitch black, he knew Hax was worried sick and scared deep inside. He approached Hax slowly and told Hax that it would be all over soon.

"Don't worry, it might be a rat in the kitchen, harassing the trash. Ah...speaking of trash, I forgot to take out the trash right after dinner. How silly of me. Oh god, your mom would be so mad" Wayne chuckled softly.

"I heard that, honey. Anyway, please check. You can throw the rubbish tomorrow," Jolyn said.

"Sure," Wayne said as he petted Hax's head. He walked out of the room.

He pressed his index finger on his lip, asking Hax to stay quiet and go to sleep. As soon as he left the room, it sent chills down Hax's spine for no reason. He felt a little cold and his guts told him to stop his dad. Hax didn't know why but he rushed to his dad when he was by the stairs. He quickly hugged him, telling him not to go. Hax persuaded his dad not to but he still insisted. Then, Wayne decided to give up as they both kept arguing through soft whispering.

"Fine...I will call your mom to go with me but please go to your bed now. It's late," Wayne said.

Hax did go to his bed and told his mom to go. He kept calling his mom to follow his dad but she didn't listen as she's snoring loudly. He kept poking her head. Later, she woke up groggily and then he explained to her that his dad wanted her to follow him which she did. She did take her time but at least Hax felt at ease. He shut his eyes to sleep.

As Jolyn walked down the stairs, she called for Wayne softly. She felt this cold sensation down the stairs. She kept calling him non-stop. Then, she heard a soft click down in the kitchen. It sounded like a gunshot. She quickly walked down the stairs and slowly walked near the kitchen. She stepped on something warm thick fluid. To her horror, it was someone's blood. As she looked up, she saw three men in masks. It was a little dim in the kitchen but she could see them. She was probably thinking that it was the husband's blood. She closed her mouth as she was gasping loudly as she was terrified. She tried sustaining her pressure from the scene.

As the three men slowly approached to her husband slowly, footstep by footstep.

"What do you want from me?" Wayne asked.

"Your....," one of the three men said but was soon cut off by her actions. She ran into the scene knowing the consequences and protected her husband with all her might. But who knew....it was probably her last time of standing up for her husband....

*Then came a bang* .....................Then it was total silence...

Hax tried sleeping but something kept bothering him, so he went down the kitchen to check up on them. He called them and he guessed that was a bad mistake. A man in a mask came out of nowhere from the kitchen, it literally scared the hell out of him. He quickly ran up the stairs and straight into the his parents' bedroom and locked the door.

"Open the door!!!" the man shouted.

Hax quickly ran to his dad's closet for escape room. His parents planned that one day if any burglars or kidnappers ever came into the house and...if something happened to them parents...though he was hoping they would be alive. He hoped. Right now was the time to use it. As soon as he opened that closet, he found his parents' corpses lying in it. Flood of blood came pouring down from the closet. He didn't know what he was seeing. He fell down to the floor and didn't know what in the world was happening. Then, the man shot the lock on the door few times to get it open.

"Hi, son. Are you surprised?" his parents asked while they were behind him all of a sudden. He looked above only to know their faces drew closer to his. Somehow their faces melted away....slowly showing their skulls bit by bit. "This...this... is what you did to us. Why didn't you save us. You could've called the cops. You could've died together with us. Live with us, son. Isn't that a great thing?" they grinned as they grabbed him by his neck.

They were chocking him till he almost lost my breath. He asked why with the remaining oxygen in him. All they did were lifting him up and looked at the man behind the door. He kicked the door open. This time, the man's face was covered with stitches. He lifted his gun and aimed at Hax. Hax was struggling with pain. The tremendous force from both his parents' grip, he wasn't able to withstand it.

"Welcome back home, son," they smiled . Hax shook his head, struggling, kicking with all his might. "Mo...M! Da..D! Plea...sE!" He squealed with every last breath of his. Tears rolled down his cheeks, realizing it was his last day on Earth. *Bang*

Hax woke up in fear, with cold sweat around my face. He quickly looked around my surrounding. He was somehow sitting in a diner. Then, he knew he was having a nightmare about my past. he remembered walking all the way here from the scorching sun. He needed shelter and here he was. How silly that he had forgotten where he was and to get caught in that terrible nightmare again. He rested his head on the sofa. Then, a waitress rested her palm on the table.

"So, Hax, having a bad dream again?" the waitress asked.

He rubbed his eyes and repeatedly blinking his eyes to get a clearer vision.

"Ah...yea, thanks for giving me a home here, Selena. I really do appreciate it. I really do" he started bursting into tears. Selena comforted him.

They had known each other for two years ever since the accident...

"I know...I know, Hax," Selena answered with a sad expression.

His name is Hax Valentine and this is where his story starts. The past he's entangled with, the past that he couldn't handle and it still terrifies him with the nightmare getting worse every single time.
