Harry watched wide eyed as Petunia came to the door. "YOU?!" She shrieked. In an instant Harry saw her face drain of color.

"Where is young Mr. Potter, Petunia?" Snape demanded with his trademark glare in place.

When did Petunia ever meet Snape? Harry wondered.

Petunia seemed unable to answer as Vernon came into the room cursing at the top of his lungs. "What happened to my door?! PETUNIA-I...WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?"

Snape wanted to flinch, but knew to remain where he was. "I'm looking for Mr. Harry Potter, Dursely." Snape whispered in a dangerous voice.

"WHY DO YOU WANT THAT FREAK?!" Vernon bellowed his face now red.

Snape didn't answer, but looked around the house in amusement. "Very nice house, I wonder if it will still be standing if I have my way with it."

"YOU WILL NOT USE YOUR FRECKISHNESS IN MY HOUSE!!" Vernons face turned a nasty shade of violet.

"You will give me Potter, or I'll literally turn your house upside down in FIVE..." Snape hissed.

"Vernon listen to him!" Petunia whimpered.

"..FOUR.."

Vernon ignored his wife.

"...THREE..."

"I WILL NOT BE THREATENED IN MY OWN HOUSE! I DEMAND YOU LEAVE AT ONCE!" Vernon yelled his balled into fists.

"...TWO!.... Not without the Potter boy." Snape snarled as he drew out his wand.

By this time, Harry was at attention and was amazed that Professor Snape was at his house. Surely he couldn't have done anything to infuriate the man over the summer, could he?

Harry wonderdd what Snape wanted with him. He tried to sit up, but his sore arms ached, causing Harry to cry out.

Snape's heart lurched with fear as he turned his head to the cupboard under the stairs. After a moment of silence, Snape spoke again but in a calm, dangerous tone. One where if said the wrong thing, the man would blow up. "Tell me, Potter isnt in there?!"

Snape strode over to the cupboard, before anyone could move. He flung the door open. What met his eyes was a very sad sight.

Lily's son curled up in a ball on a filthy mat.  His hair was no longer silky, but greasy like Snape's. He had his eyes closed as if he were sleeping. The rest of his body was covered in light scars and burn marks.

Snape turned to Vernon and Petunia.  Waving his wand at them, the couple collapsed to the floor like puppets.

Snape sighed heavily as he crawled in under the stairs to try and wake the sleeping teen. "Potter, this is Professor Snape. I need you to open your eyes for me." He said in his softest tone.

Harry still refused to believe what was happening. However, he opened his eyes expecting to see his uncle glaring at him. Instead he found his potions teacher looking at him in pity.

Harrys mouth was wide open in shock. He was unable to say anything but, "Sir, what are you doing here?"

Snape stifled a sigh. "I'm here to get you. Dumbledore requested that I bring you to the Burrow." Snape answered.

Harry panicked, "I can't let my friends see me like this!"

Snape sighed, "Potter, if you come with me I can heal you. Now where is your trunk?"

"Upstairs, but it isnt packed. I cant make it up the stairs." Harry answered.

"Its ok, I will help you up the stairs." Snape answered.

Harry glanced sideways at his teacher, "why are you helping me? I thought you hated me!"

"Just because I loathe you Potter, doesnt mean you should be abused the way you have." Snape replied as the two made their way up the stairs.

When Harry got into his room, he blushed from the mess the room was in. "I'm sorry sir, I havent been in here in three weeks."

Snape didnt answer, but raised his wand causing all of Harrys things to soar around the room and fold itself neatly into the trunk. Snape's eyes swept the room. "Is there anythibg else you need?"

Harry nodded as he sat down on the floor, loosening a floorboard. He extracted his Invisibility Cloak and a leather photo album. He set it in his trunk. He took his wand stowing it in his front pocket.

Satisfied, Snape waved his wand as the trunk disappeared. "You will be reunited with your belongings at the Burrow."

Once again, Snape helped Harry back down the stairs.

Harry nodded. "What about those two?" He gestured to Vernon and Petunia's unconcious forms.

"I will restore them, but you need a proper Healer. Hold on." Snape waved his wand as a bright silver orb appeared. He turned to speak to the orb. "Poppy, I'm sending you Potter. He needs you badly. I will be there soon." Snape tried not to let any emotion seep into his voice. He then turned to Harry.

"Sir, how will I get to Hogwarts? The Floo isnt connected because this is a Muggle house." Harry stated.

"Dumbledore has allowed for me to make you a portkey. What about your owl is she here?" Snape asked.

"I had to hand her off to Ron before the summer began. Otherwise, they'd kill her." Harry nodded to the unconcious couple.

Snape pretended not to hear the last sentance Harry said. He took the knob of the nearest lampshade and placed the tip of his wand to it. "Portus. Now I will follow after I returned the house to its former state. Poppy is good at descretion. Now go!"

Harry took hold of the portkey as it activated. The familiar feeling of a hook behind the navel came as the scene around him changed.

Hogwarts

Poppy shrieked when a silver orb with Severus Snape's voice spoke of Potter needing her help.

Quickly Poppy pulled herself together as she readied a bed for the 13 year old.

Moments later, Harry Potter appeared clutching a very small object. Poppy was stunned, but hurried to help him into the nearest bed.

Harry was so tired, he almost fell onto the bed and closed his eyes. He needed to rest after the most recent beating he got.
