It had been a week since the triangle room incident, and the guy, Dominic, and I have encountered each other once more, sadly. I had passed him in the halls several times but he didn't even notice me, he'd even look close to me, but never right at me, as if I was just thrown away. But, it made me surprisingly sad. It bothered me. Why show such endearing interest in someone and then throw them away?
It's sickening.
I walked into band once more. In the past week, Dustin had not given me any weird looks, thankfully. It was just as if nothing had happened. And I didn't want him to get mad or suspicious of me. But for some reason i've been having odd luck lately.
"Hey," I heard a familiar voice say and my heart skipped a beat. I turned around to see Dustin looking at me, his expression full of friendlyness.
"What..?" I asked, then realizing how stupid my reply was, I sorta froze. I'm such an idiot!
"I need to talk to you.. About last Friday." My stomach lurched. What bad luck I have. I gulped and hesitantly nodded and we stood by the door that left outside.
"So Friday," Dustin began, "do you even know who that was?"
I nodded nervously.
"Do you know him personally?"
I shook my head.
He nodded slowly, as if inspecting me. "Then why was he holding you?"
"I-I don't know.." I muttered. "He just like grabbed me."
"Well, he shouldn't be doing that. I'm surprised he did that myself. But just be careful and stay away from him, got me?" I nodded. This was the first time I had talked to him and he already seemed so protective.
"Ayy!" I turned my head to see one of Dustin's friends calling for him. Dustin immediately walked over to them, leaving me behind. Unsure of what to do, I went for my instrument and waited for the teacher to start warm ups.
-the next day-
The next day in science, we had to go to the library so we could print off a report for our experiments and finish them up. And as soon as I entered, Isabelle was going crazy.
"Camron is here!" She said excitedly, noticing her crush deeply into his work. "And be careful, so is Dom!" My slightly happy emotions drowned to sadness at the mention of his nickname. I tried to search for him but I couldn't find him.
"Oops! Sorry!" A voice said as the person accidentally ran into me. I turned around to see who it was and to apologize but my eyes widened as I saw it was Dom. Just my luck. I couldn't even utter a "no problem", I was so surprised. He just walked away without letting me say anything and once I recovered I clenched my fists tight. What was he trying to do? Try to "pull me in" by acting like he cares and then just blow me off? Or was he reminding me that he still had his eyes on me? My mind spinning, I sat next to Isabelle and attempted to try and finish my report but with all these thoughts in my head I couldn't. And just as it was five minutes before we had to leave, I turn my head to see Dom glancing at me, his head not turned but his eyes pointed at me. When our eyes met he instantly looked away and so did I. I didn't have time for whatever he wanted. I told myself I didn't even care. Yet for some reason, I did.
