The clock had just passed midnight. My heart raised as I heard an owl far away. It was a full moon. The snow was reflecting so bright it looked like dozens of small diamonds spread everywhere. Far up on the hill in the distance was a huge lighted mansion. A stone path was leading up to the mansion, and beside the path was a worn-out fence. I walked up to the door. A beautiful thorn pattern was covering the door.

I knocked on the door to see if anyone was home, but no one answered. I opened the door with every care, the door was creaking loudly. I looked around, spiderwebs were covering everything. Desks, lamps, mirrors, stairs, every single thing.

My heart rose out of my chest, suddenly I heard a noise that will haunt my nightmares. It sounded exactly like a girl screaming as loud as she could until the breath took her. Then it all went silent again. I walked up the balcony stairs, a huge painting was hanging on the blue wall. The picture was ripped up and dried out blood was covering the faces.

I walked up to the first door I could see. I kicked it open and dust were flying everywhere. In front of me were this huge bed. The sheets were dusted down, but I could still see the beautiful ocean blue colour shining through. Behind the bed stood an old, white closet. I walked to the bed and sat down.

-So cold, whispered a voice in the far distance, but still so close to me.

-I'm so cold, said the voice again this time more eagerly.

A shiver went down my back as a wind gusts came through my window, making the white curtains and my long black hair go in every direction. I was so tired, and my body was aching so bad that I decided to get some sleep. I took myself to crawl under the dusty sheets and lay my head on the pillow, and without knowing it I fell asleep.

"Wake up love." A scary voice made me wake up with a scream. My forehead was covered with small water drops. I looked around me, I saw the door was no longer closed. A shadow took form behind the door as it slowly closed itself with a loud noise, and behind the door was a clown. He was just standing there staring at me with a huge smile on his face. I was too focused on him to realize that everything was silent.

I started packing my things still having the clown in my sight. Just as I got up the clown were standing an armlength away from me. I slowly got a hold on my knife. The clown was still there looking at me. Before the clown could do anything, I stabbed him in the stomach. Blood started to drip from the knife that now had turned into a crimson red colour. I could feel the adrenaline rush around my body. I ran so fast the breath got away, and I could feel my feet separate from my body. Just as I opened the door I started screaming.

-AHHH!

The clown was standing in the door opening with the bloody knife in his stomach. I walked slowly backward, but I suddenly tripped and fell on my back. The clown slowly took a grip around the handle of the knife. Carefully he pulled the knife out, and the blood started to drip again. I felt sick to my stomach, but I held it in. The clown walked towards me with the blood-dripping knife in his right hand. He sat down next to me, and stroke the knife on my cheek. The cold steel blade made me shiver.

I looked at him and I could see that he was enjoying this. I tried to kick him, but just as I were about to try, he cut my cheek. It was like he could read my mind. My blood was drawn, and I could feel it sting. He looked at my blood running, and he took his finger on my cut, making it burn even more. Then he licked the blood from his finger. I was thinking to myself that this was the end, and I was right too. He held the knife up at my throat. And cut.

I woke up in the middle of the night, my heart was pounding fast. Small water drops were covering my face, and I couldn't breathe. I turned on the light and looked myself in the mirror.

-No blood, I sighed relieved.

But just as I was about to go to bed again, I saw something. I had a scar on my cheek. I could feel it sting, and it was fresh.
