I believe
That if it wasn't for the conditions in which we were put upon
If things would've turned out our way
We would be sitting down on my stairs at this very moment
Drinking a beer
Smoking some cigarettes
And contemplating the mere existence of life
The mere existence of us
And our love
For we were so passionate
About ourselves
And the thoughts we shared
We were so passionate about life itself
And the questions we often had in mind
About creation
Purpose
And why sometimes life doesn't hand us exactly what we want
If it weren't for what happened to us
We would be making out
Hugging
And reminding ourselves of how much we dearly loved each other
We would be enjoying the moment
And wishing there were more moments 
Between us
