Percy's POV

Tears in my eyes, I slung my backpack over my shoulders. I slammed Anaklusmos onto the desk in the Poseidon cabin, right on top of the note I had recently written. I wiped tears furiously from my eyes, but no matter how often I did so tears kept flowing down my fast in steady streams. I growled at myself, though even that cracked in the middle. I kicked the door open, clenching my fists. I ignored the glares of campers, ignored Annabeth taunting and teasing me, I ignored everything. I stormed to Thalia's pine, not even stopping to look at Peleus before crossing the boundaries, fully knowing they wouldn't let me back it. I broke into a run down the hill, away from the place I hated most. More than the Labyrinth, more that Tartarus.

Camp Half Blood. You're probably thinking 'Isn't Camp Half Blood your home? Where you grew up and learned to fight? Your save haven?' Yeah, well not anymore. Ever since an Arai curse came back to hit me in the face when I least expected it, everyone's hated me and tried to kill me, gods and the seven included. Leo was the only one who didn't turn against me, but I couldn't bear to check to see if he hated me too. I felt bad leaving him behind, but if he left me too... I blinked more tears and looked around, realizing that in my mental rant that I had absolutely no weapon, no food, no water, and found out I was standing in the middle of the woods, which you could probably tell was in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Perfect, just perfect. Still wiping at the endless stream of tears, I chose a completely random direction, sponsored by the idiotic ideas in my head, and started to walk in it. I found nothing. No monster donut shops, no monsters, no lost campers, no crazy hermits living in the woods. Actually, scratch that last thing. Well, he didn't look like a crazy hermit, but who would be in the woods this deep? Unless they were trying to kill me, which happened a lot more than I would have liked.

Anyway, dumb ADHD, the man had beautiful slightly curly blonde hair and icy blue eyes. He wore a black robe and- Aww shit. Death had come to kill me himself? Seriously? I groaned and crossed my arms, but he just stood there was an amused smile. "Seriously dude, if your gonna kill me just get it over with." I grumbled, not in the mood to properly agitate.

"Did you just swear?" He asked completely ignoring my question.

"Yes I did ignore your question, and you're thinking out loud." He told me, raising an eyebrow.

I blinked. "Wait, seriously? Am I going insane or something?" I asked.

"I think you're a bit distressed at the moment and it's messing with your head." He told me, tapping my head with a pen he pulled out of nowhere.

Great. I'm been betrayed, cheated on, gotten lost, gone insane, and I'm talking to a hot grim reaper. My life is just perfect right now. He raised an eyebrow at me. "Did you just call be a hot grim reaper?" He asked. I face palmed.

"Still talking aloud. Right. So why are you here again?" I asked, getting more annoyed by the second.

"Well, I'm not here to kill you, if that's what your wondering, which I would know because you've been saying everything out loud." I rolled my eyes and he continued. "I'm here to offer you to be an... Assassin, I guess, of Hades and I. We'd be like your managers, but you can pretty much kill anyone we give you permission to."

"Does that include Annabi- I mean Annabeth?" I asked.

"Uh, no." He said, tapping me with his pen again.

"Aww man. But, I'd make, like, the worst assassin." I told him. "Why me?"

He tapped my with his pen with every word he said. "Because-" Tap "You're-" Tap "A-" Tap "Good-" Tap "Warrior-" Tap "And-" Tap "Quick-" Tap "Learner." Tap.

"Dude! Stop!" I exclaimed, swatting his pen away. He frowned and threw it at my nose, falling to the ground and reappearing in his hand. "No way... Do a get a pen that does that!?" I asked.

"To my understanding you had one." He told me, raising both eyebrows high.

"Yeah but it reminded me of Poseidon." I told him, waving it off. "Plus it wasn't that quick."

He sighed. "If I give you one of these pens will you join?"

"Sure! But the pen is needed. And a replacement every time I loose it." I added.

He groaned. Maybe I wasn't to moody to agitate gods. "You're never to moody to agitate gods Percy. Speaking of that, what's your new name gonna be?"

     "New name?" I asked.

"Yes. You need a new name. Something... Intimidating." He told me.

"Fluffy Unicorns." I told his with a straight face. He stared at me and blinked twice.

      "Excuse me?"

"My new name. Fluffy Unicorns." I told him, as if it were obvious.

      "You're kidding right?" He asked.

"Dead serious." I told him. "No! Just kidding. What kind of name is Fluffy Unicorns? How about Annabeth Slayer 274?" I asked.

"Is that one serious?" He asked.

"Nah, but that's my nickname now. My new name is... Hmm. Aklios." I decided.

"Aklios, AKA Annabeth Slayer 274 or Fluffy Unicorns." He said, nodding. "That could do. Let's go."

He grabbed my arm and flashed me somewhere, forcing me to shut my eyes. When I opened them it was useless because everything was dark. "Dude, I can't see anything!" I exclaimed, holding my hands out in front of me.

"This is your training." A voice boomed out of nowhere. "You will remain in this simulator until you are fit. Oh, and here's your pen. No, it's not a sword." Then I realized it was Thanatos.

"Do I have to, like, find something in darkness or whatever?" I asked, holding up the pen in front of my face, which was also useless because I couldn't see it. But I could feel it. I threw it across where ever I was and it hit something with a metallic clang before it returned to my hand. I grinned madly.

     "Cool!" I exclaimed.

"Dude, seriously, this is the easiest level and all you've done is thrown your pen at the wall." Thanatos said, sounding exasperated.

"No, I did exactly what I wanted to." I told him with a smirk, walking over in front of me. I took three steps to the left, frowned, then took one more to the left. I pointed my finger dramatically at the wall, took a step forward and hit a button. "See?" I asked, smirking.

Thanatos cleared his throat, obviously shocked. "Hey, I hung out with Annabi- Annabeth for a while, you know?" I asked, crossing my arms. "Now was that button supposed to do something?"

"Uh, yeah. Here, I'll send you to the next level." My scenery suddenly changed and I was...

Authors Note

I'm mean, I know. So as you could tell by the first chapter and part of the second chapter this book was supposed to be serious, but I was in a weird giggly mood that made me cringe,  so here we are with Fluffy Unicorns and Annabeth Slayer 274 throwing magical pens at walls! Yeah, I don't know what happened to me... Anyway, hope you enjoyed!
