Sunday mornings in Derry aren't usually lovely. Most of the time the air is too heavy, the ground too dry, and the noise pollution inherently overwhelming.

But the moment you got to be alone with your feet in the grass and Stanley Uris walking beside you, the world seemed to transform. That morning in particular, the sky was the color of burnt peach and you could smell what seemed to be fresh sheets and sun-kissed fabric.

You and Stan had spent so much time together when you were children, but as the years passed, so did your connection. It was only recently that you'd regained the bond you once had. Bill Denbrough had always been a family friend, and after the tragedy with his younger brother, you started getting closer to the 'Loser's club', and by circumstance, with Stan.

"What's up with you?"

Stan's voice snapped you out of whatever trance you where in as you turned to face him. A soft smile appeared on his face as he walked. You took a moment to respond. "It's nothing, I guess. Just..." You exhaled softly. "I guess I missed this. I missed you."

Stan stopped walking. The breeze hit you instantly as you mimicked his actions. He seemed to be thinking about something, but it was unclear what.

"I missed you too, you know." He said quietly, almost as if he was ashamed of something. "I keep thinking about how we should, uh, spend more time together and shit."

You nodded in agreement. "Well, that's why we're here isn't it?" You said with a small grin, leaning over to nudge him playfully. "Come on, the sun's about to rise."

Before you could so much as take a step, Stan hastily reached for your arm. His expression was unreadable, and his breath unsteady. Then, with a quick movement toward you, your lips were touching. It took a moment for you to realize what was happening, but once you did, your eyes fluttered shut and you hands made their way to Stan's hair. The kiss happened so quickly that you barely had time to regain your balance once he pulled away.

His expression was, once again, unreadable. It was unsettling not to know what was going on in that head of his at pivotal moments such as this one.

"Sorry." Stan muttered, his lips curling into a reluctant smile.

"Stanley Uris," You started, moving back into the position you were in moments before, "If there was anything to be sorry for, it's that you hadn't done that sooner."

And with that, your lips met once more.
