Chapter 2: Karma's a Bitch to Bitches

Ten minutes and my mother were still in the bathroom! She was finished using it-though I would never have thought my mom would use something so disgusting. I watch through the crack of the dully painted yellow stall, I was currently crunched up in. Mom stood in front of the mirror fixing her hair and make up, when suddenly her phone buzzed on the cracked tiles of the sick.

She grabbed it instantly when the buzz of the white device decided it wasn't going to stop, and groaned.

"Hello? Mrs. Johnson is speaking," she sounded annoyed.

Carefully placing the delicate iPhone onto the counter, she presses the speaker button. Angrily the voice of the man on the other end blares, "Lisa! Where are you? Your break ended five minutes ago!"

I flinched, hearing someone scream at my mother like that was rare. No one ever dared to take on my mother, except me, of course, but she is after all, my mother. I wasn't surprised when she calmly spoke a sincere reply to the man.

"A girl needs to do what a girls got to do, Tom. You get so angry, although I've told you multiple times, I need a longer lunch break!"

The voice growled, "you're testing my patience! You be here in five or your out of a job!"

Okay, maybe I was a little surprised. My mom taking on her boss like that? Then threatened to lose her job, but she still looked carefree? I think she needs to get a heart and get back to reality, time isn't going to wait before something drastic happens to her.

I hope she loses her job!

I know that's a bit much, but I'm a teenager! Who's grounded. Who isn't allowed to see her friends and has to 'break up' with the bit she loves. You can say I'm still pissed at her, but I took the time to control it.

With a sigh, I see my dark haired mother end the call and storm out the washroom.

"Oh, thank god!" I whisper to myself.

I tumble out of the raunchy bathroom a couple minutes after my mother. Matt and Jassy are still seated at the table I left them in. I couldn't help but smile at Matt's goofy grin once he sees me, it's priceless.

"So now that I think about it, I'm guessing I'm the reason you're grounded?" Matt chuckles, his grin transforming into an evil smirk.

I observe the gorgeousness of my boyfriend standing before me. It never failed to impress me at how toned his body is, or how identical his brown hair is to Chance Crawford in the television show Gossip Girl. I gaze wondrously into his eyes, slivers of blue and green mix beautifully around his pupil.

"Claire, stop checking me out. We don't have time for you to be eye raping me, lets go," Matt's voice shuts me out of my thoughts.

I blush after being caught staring, but nod in agreement as we burst through the restaurant doors. A cold wind strikes my bare neck, sending goosebumps onto every inch of my skin. I stare blankly at the snow flakes that fell softly onto the paved parking lot, winter is coming.
