Dick came to pick us up a couple of hours later, Damian had enough and frankly so have I.

"Thanks for the ride."

"It's no problem!" He smiled

Damian was oddly quiet, maybe he's embarrassed, the thought made me smile, I felt like a blush was coming.

We're friends. My heart feels funny.

We pulled onto my road.

"Stop here."

Dick stopped, he looked around and got quiet,

"You live around here?"

"Ya, I'm pretty poor"

He looked deep in thought, I decided to leave before he made up his mind.

"Bye guys"

I stepped out, making sure to grab my bag. Damian locked eyes with me but kept quiet. I smiled.

"Bye Dami"

He looked away, how cute. They drove off and I started down to my apartment. I smelled the mold upon entering, the sweet scent of home, I plop on the couch, my feet are aching. My landlord approaches me immediately.

"I know", I said dismissively.

"You're running out of time."

He walked away annoyed and I got a clear view of the television.

"The Joker has escaped Arkham and has taken hostages at Gotham city bank news reporter Vicki Vale who is outside the bank at this time has this to say..."

I didn't hear the rest THIS WAS MY CHANCE. My chance to get revenge and put right too all the wrongs that the Joker has done to me and everyone else.

I practically ran up to my room.

I grabbed a black T-shirt and cut two big holes into the back of it. I did the same with a leather jacket I found in the lost-N-found a few weeks ago.

I put them on and let my wings unfold. Once I caught my breath, I looked at myself and threw the mirror. It went perfectly through the holes! For a rushed job it wasn't bad.

I frowned slightly, something was missing, oh duh, my face is exposed, can't have that!

I opened my drawers and looked around, when I found the perfect thing, a mask I got in Venice years ago. A gift from my mother. I pressed it against my face, tying the knot tightly in the back and stared at myself in the mirror.

It was scratchy but I'd have to do for now. Adrenaline was pumping in my veins, I felt scared but excited at the same time, everything felt amazing.

I opened my window, my heart fluttering with excitement. Placing my right foot on the ledge I heard my heart thump in my ears.

I've never really flown before.

'Now or never' I realized, letting myself fall from the window. A scream escaped my lips as I flapped my wings desperately, my eyes squeezed shut in anticipation. I definitely didn't think this through, I should have practiced, I should have made sure that physics would allow this.

As I opened my eyes, I found myself wobbling through the air. A smile grew on my lips as I veered in the direction of the bank, finally, it was time, It didn't matter what happened after anyway.

My revenge is about to take place and The Joker will be taken out.

Permanently.

Even though I flew pretty well, I have to admit my landing could use some work. I came crashing through the window and fell right on top of one of the Joker's minions. Ouch, not my best moment, but thankfully it knocked him out and I was able to grab one of their guns. I never held a gun before...
