Katie's POV:
Scrubs stained with blood and many other things, hair in a mess, I peeled the outfit off my body before I got in the hot shower to wash away the work day I had in the hospital, I could hear my mother Renesmee stirring around in the kitchen trying to start dinner.
"Katie, come on!!"
I rolled my eyes as I finished up and dressed down in a form fitting black dress with thin straps and matching leggings with flats, I walked into the kitchen as I hefted and twisted my hair into an elegant blonde bun atop my head.
"What mom?"
I stopped once I was able to smell the nasty Italian food she was attempting to make at the stove, she turned to watch me and smiled.
"Well, I was going to ask if you were going to stay for dinner but with how dressed you are I would have to say..''
She wrinkled her nose before finishing her sentence.
"You're either going out with mom and dad on a visiting date...''
I shook my head and looked down at my manicured nails, heat coloing my cream skin when I felt like she knew the answer.
"Ohh....you're meeting up with that one son of Sam's aren't you?"
I nodded before looking up with a slight smile.
"Well, just promise me you'll stay safe at the least.''
I rolled my eyes and moved my shoulders around to pop them and loosen up the muscles in the top of my back around my shoulder blades.
"Mom you tend to forget my genetics sometimes I swear, no one is going to attempt to mess with me and if they do I'll be ready ok? Plus, I'm going to need to hunt if I plan on staying around him and his friends some tonight.''
She cocks her head to the side, her long wavy hair spilling over her left shoulder and her rich brown eyes began to sparkle.
"He hasn't transitioned over yet into the pack has he?''
"No but it's really close to happening though, Carlisle had me helping out in the emergency room with a few operations that he didn't trust any of the other nurses with and I have control over my feral side...but it's still nice to be safe. Espically around Cameron.''
She shrugs as she whirls around back to the stove and started stirring different pots and pans, only fueling the nasty smell of something sour and garlic scented to my nose.
"I suppose since you're growing quite fond of this boy that it's better to be safe then sorry although I couldn't much care less about his friends, they have some growing up to do.''
I chuckled.
"Mom, they're not even of the same genetic code so they're going to be immature, it's what happens when teenage boys get together.''
Another shrug as she flipped some of her hair over her shoulder and kept at the pots and pans on the stove.
"Anyway...if you see your father out there on your way there could you tell him dinner will be ready by the time he gets back?"
"Sure.''
I waved my right hand in a goodbye jesture to her as I bolted from the door of our small cottage home to outside where I felt more at home.
*******************************************************************************************I let the deer fall to the ground with a satisfactory sigh that my thirst had been handled and I bent down slightly to place a hand on the dead animal's neck.
