The characters and names in this story are all fictional, although the events are based on a true incident that occurred in my life. I was the girl in the backseat of that car, listening to the other passengers spout hate. I didn't agree with it. That is the only part of the story that actually happened, the rest came from my mind, but it is realistic fiction. I got to thinking about how that event could affect someone. I thought about all the different components that go into a situation like that. If we would've been stopped by a red light five minutes before, if she would have stopped to tie her shoe, if the windows weren't rolled down, the whole incident could've been avoided. But all of the conditions on that day were perfect for disaster, in the story at least. A suicide could have really happened. I'm lucky the conditions weren't actually like that, but you never know what could happen. Always think about what could happen. Because from your actions there will always be The Effect.
