"You need friends, Bridget." Raising my eyebrows, I look over at Mum, who is gentle putting her shoulder length brown her in a ponytail. I'm currently sitting on her bed while she gets ready for her big night out with her girl friends.
"You need a man, Mum." She drops her arms down as she finishes doing her hair and turns around looking at me with a death glare. "That's right Mum, I said it. You need someone to sweep you have your feet and take you to Hawaii for a honey moon!" A grin makes it a cross my face as she continues to glare at me.
"Did you just really say that to me and no I don't need a Man, Bridget. No women needs a man." Her face softens a bit. "We're strong enough to get through life without some man in our way."
"You do have a point there but don't you think that maybe there's a man out there for you?" She scrunches her nose up as she was thinking about my question. That was her normal thinking face, her nose scrunches up, while her eyebrows furrow. My thinking face makes me look like wolverine and not the sexy part.
My thoughts fade away as I feel Mum sitting next to me on the bed. Looking over at her, I couldn't help but realised that she was looking at the white wall, it had nothing but pictures of me and some of her. It covered up the ugly smudges that covered some of the white wall. "You never know what life throws at you, some good situations and some bad but that should never stop you from what you want to do." She looks over at me and smiles showing off her straight teeth. "Bridget, I don't need a man in my life anymore. I have you, and a job at that bakery and that's all I really need. I raised you on my known for 8 years and look where we're at! We have a good, normal, awesome life and life might throw some situations at us but that's not going to stop us, is it?" Shaking my head, I smile and couldn't help but tear up a little at how strong my Mother is.

Why is life cliché? Well because we all go through similar situations and that turns into an everyday thing. When you come to think of it, most girls always go for the bad boys. It doesn't matter who you are, most of us go for the mysterious, bad ass guy who doesn't give a shit about the world. I mean we all say we want a gentleman in our lives and we might want that but we always fall for the opposite, right?
The good girl always seemed to have a bad boy for a neighbour. Me? No. Life had to through a cute gentleman at me and I don't mean neat clean suits and slick hair, I mean the kind who is clumsy, has no sense of direction and or no sense of fashion. The typed who will open a door for any type of girl, the type who will do anything and everything for a girl even when life throws shit at him.
I'm currently standing in the middle of my room with my hair brush gripped in my hands and a towel around my wet body. I never knew I was going to meet one of my new neighbours like this, half naked, cold and in the middle of a mini dance party, aka -a-Bridget-dance-party. My eyes continue to look at the boy in front of me, he stood behind his window. His hair was all over the place, his eyes where chocolate brown and his smile was crooked. He had a tint of blush on his cheeks from the encounter we just had.
He didn't move a muscle and he clearly couldn't from the view he was seeing. "Ah.. Wow." He mumbles and he shakes his head, quickly turning around clearly not seeing the wall that was in his way. He groans at the impacted, making me wince and walk over to the window. Ouch. Poor guy.
"Oh um.. Are you okay?" He continues to groan and backs away from the cream coloured wall. Nodding, he turns his head and we make contact again. "You might want to get an ice pack for that.." I point to the bump that was slowly making its way on his forehead, making him groan in annoyance.
"I just got rid of the last bump..." I couldn't help but laugh at his comment. Forgetting I was wearing a towel on my body, I didn't realise the towel slide off my wet body, until I felt the cold wind hit my body. My laughter stops and my eyes widen. He awkwardly chuckles and continues to look into my eyes. "Sorry I'll let you..." He pauses. "Uh Ryan by the way."
"Bridget."
He closes his window, before closing his curtains to give me room to wrap my head around what just happened.
Yep, life is definitely throwing me cliché situations, like everyone else.

My mind kept repeating those words that Mum said on Friday to me. "You need friends, Bridget." Of course she's right. I do need friends. It's not easy to talk to people, especially when you're person who needs to go up to them and start a random conversation with them. I'm used to Mum being my one and only friend. She's easy to talk and well not everyone is that easy to talk too.
I'm currently at school, sitting out in the court yard. My foot continues to tap against the dry, cold ground as I think about the other night. My mind couldn't help but go back to that night. The night where my new neighbour saw me naked. I mean at least he didn't laugh at me or throw cocky comments at me. He was different. I know I don't know him that well, I didn't even know his name but there's just something about him.
A bunch of girls squealing and laughing, interrupts my thoughts. My eyes snap over to where the sounds were and my eyes land on, Brandon. Sighing, I shake my head. Who is this guy? He comes to this school, what, like a week ago and all sudden he is the 'bees knees'. He isn't even that good looking anymore. He just looks like a frog on freaking steroids.
"Hey." A girl with long, blonde hair stands in front of, blocking the view of the 'party' happening over there. Her eyes were a bright blue and her face was cover with faded freckles. "I'm sorry, I just came over to say hey. You just seem like you need someone to talk." She pauses and mumbles softly, enough for me to hear. "Plus I'm new here so I don't really have anyone to talk." I couldn't help but smile at her. No one has ever taken their time to come and talk to me, especially wanting to be my friend. She smiles back at me, showing off her bright smile.
"Hey, yeah. Would you like to sit uh down with me?" She nods and sits down next to me leaning her back against the tree. "I'm Bridget, by the way." She looks at me, making me look at her and continues to smile.
"Taylor."

Shawn Mendes as the new neighbour and Taylor as Sabrina Carpenter.
And yes it's kinda confusing because I'm using shawn Mendes as a character in this book but she is also a fan of Shawn Mendes in this book. Deal with it.
Anyways hope you're enjoy xx
