Khalil’s Point of View:
Stepping out of the car, I’m so tired that I have to drag myself upstairs. All I can think about is making it to my nice warm bed. I’m so exhausted that I can barely even think straight. Somehow I manage to make it the room and fall face first on my bed.
“Sleep.”
I grab my pillow and throw it over my head. Avannah comes into the room and jumps down on the bed next to me, grabbing my arm to make me sit up.
“Um I don’t think so Khalil. The doctor said not to let you sleep right away and there is no way I’m letting you die. I need you.” Avannah said.
“Well thanks.” I give Avannah an awkward look.
“Anytime.” Avannah said as she walks over to my IPod and put some music on.
She looks through my music and ends up turning it to “Run it.” By Chris Brown and Juelz Santana and starts dancing. Good thing that I kept one IPod that actually works. I look at her out of the corner of my eye.
“What are you doing?”
“What does it look like I’m doing, I’m dancing. I have to keep you entertained so that you stay awake.” Avannah said.
She jumps up and down throwing air punches. I couldn’t help but laugh at her. She walks over to me and grabs my hand, pulling me up to make dance with her. I stiffen up for a minute, but then decide to make an idiot out of myself and just let loose. As we start jumping around and dancing, we both burst out laughing. I look over at the doorway and see Keisha standing there with biggest grin on her face.
I jump back startled and land on the bed.
“Oh shit Kei. What the hell are you doing?” I look at her and quickly remember how she chose Amari over me but on the inside my heart is beating fast and I’m happy to see her and I’m finding it hard to catch my breath.
“I wanted to make sure that you were okay. I wasn’t going to stop by because I was pretty sure you wouldn’t wanna see me and was mad at me, but the more I thought anything at all I found myself thinking about you.” Keisha said.
She nervously plays with acrylic nails. Hearing her say those words caused my heart to skip a beat. Just hearing her say she thought about sent shivers down my spine. I don’t wanna know why she didn’t show up at the hospital or fight with her.
At this moment I’m just at lost for words. I clear my throat.
“Well thanks for thinking about me… I mean stopping by.” I turn my head, to cover the fact that I’m blushing.
She grabs my face softly and looks in my eyes.
“I love your eyes, they are beautiful. I love everything about you by the way. I would love for us to be together but it’s up to you.” Keisha said.
She lost her smile and her face turns serious as if she trying to read the effects that her words have on me. She reaches over and softly rubs the bump on the side of my head.
“Let me get something cold to put on that for you.” Keisha said.
“No really Im…” She grabs my hand and pulls me away to the living room and sits me down on the couch.
She runs her finger over my lips.
“Just let me take care of you please. I know that you need someone to watch over you for the night and I want to make sure you are safe. Please just don’t say anything and just let me do that.” Keisha said.
