It had been a week, and Jimin was tired of hiding it.
Today was the day.
Today was the day that he would finally tell Jungkook about his condition.
He had been hiding it for so long, he was practically itching to say it.
But, not in a good way.
He was extremely nervous to hear and see Jungkook's reaction.
"Jungkookie?"
"What?" He replied from the dance practice room.
"Can we go to my place? I have something to tell you, jagi."
"Of course, give me a second."
"Sure," Jimin replied.
After Jungkook got his things together, they hopped into Jimin's car, and drove to Jimin's apartment.
When they reached the apartment, they both got out of the car, walked up the steps, and into the apartment.
"Whatcha gotta tell me, Jiminie?" Jungkook smiled.
Jimin prepared for that bunny smile to disappear faster than you can say "kimchi".
"Sit down," Jimin whispered, placing a hand on Jungkook's thigh.
"Jimin, you're worrying me, what's wrong?" Jungkook's smile disappeared, just like Jimin knew it would.
"Jungkook,"
"What? Jimin, just say it."
"Well, my lab results came back.."
"And?"
"My kidneys are failing."
Jungkook stared Jimin dead in the eyes.
Jimin watched as Jungkook's soulless-looking eyes filled with tears.
"Jimin," Jungkook whispered.
"I'm sorry,"
"Don't apologize." Jungkook said, choking on his own sobs.
"Jungkook, please don't leave me,"
"Jimin, I won't ever leave you. Remember this?"
Jungkook took Jimin's small hand and pressed on the promise ring that remained on Jimin's finger.
"Remember? The promise I made you? I'll never leave you, through sickness and in health?"
"Yes," Jimin whispered as a tear rolled down his almond-shaped eye.
Jungkook reached up to wipe Jimin's tears, forgetting about his own, which were falling rapidly.
"Is there a cure?" Jungkook sobbed.
"I can get a kidney through a donor, but-"
Jungkook cut him off.
"I'll donate my kidney."
"Jagi, you have to get tested to see if you're a match, and-"
"Jimin, I want to get tested."
"Okay," Jimin sighed.
"I love you~"
"I love you too Jungkook."
"When did you find out?" Jungkook asked.
"Last week,"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was afraid you'd leave me," Jimin looked up at him.
"Jimin, you know I would never leave you, for any reason, this is your proof," Jungkook smiled, looking at Jimin's ring.
Jimin returned his smile weakly, and placed his head on Jungkook's chest, hearing his soft heartbeat.
Jimin looked up at his boyfriend and pointed to Jungkook's chest.
"This," he tapped Jungkook's chest with his finger, "is what's keeping me alive."
