Not your art , Not your oc

As a writers,role player,or just as fellow fan we tend to make our own original characters.
Whatever it's for our own original stories or already existing one ,we like to use our imagination and create original character.
But through the years there been numerous problems of these original characters or to shorten it OCs

Introducing your OCs
How not to do it:
When creating OCs many creators like to post them online and show to them the world.
Showing your OCs is great way to introduce people. Is a great way to learn more about your OC,the world you created,and even a little bit about yourself. Thus when presenting your OCs a lot creators tend to use a method I like to call

The Profile Method

The Profile Method is basically a fictional profile of your OC that have their personal information such age,race,backstory,name,and etc that helps us know a little bit your Oc, and a picture usually a drawing the creator drew as their OC profile picture.

Here an example of  The Profile Method

OC's Profile

Bill

Full Name: Bill Daboi Jones
Age:69
Race: Stick Man
Physical Appearance: Bald,skinny ,and usually appears to wear no clothes.
Height: 4'2o cm
Hobbies: Insulting vegans and wearing no clothes.
Background: At the age of 9 his parents forgot about him and abandon him at a grocery store. For 60 years Bill been trap in the grocery store living in a immurement life style ,until he finally realize that he could have left the store along. Now Bill is trying is best to revamp his life and learn about all the things he miss out on during his imprisonment.

Hopefully that given you'll a good understanding about the Profile Method .
In my opinion the Profile Method is great way to introduce people your OCs. I strongly recommend to use this method when presenting people your OC .

However before using the Profile Method you must know this before hand.
If you plan to use artwork for OC's profile picture it must be your artwork  that you created ,and not someone else's is.

I commonly see young creator using other people artwork and saying that it's there OC .

Which is wrong in so many ways.
Many people will post artworks and not show any sign of credit to the original artist. And claim these artwork to be their "OC" when in reality their really not.
I understand that people use these artworks because they feel like they're a accurate  representation of their OC . However many don't consider the artwork they use may be someone else OC. 
How would you feel if you work really hard drawing your OC that took you probably took months to create. And once it's done you decide to finally upload it online. Then weeks later your browsing online until you stubble upon a OC Profile sheet that have very familiar drawing as their profile pic. But then you soon realize that is your OC but now it's not anymore. Now your OC that you work so on ,that you put all your heart and efforts creating it's backstory is now gone and replace. And watch someone else get praise for a OC they didn't create.

Yeah it doesn't sound that good . So please don't use other people artwork as profile picture for your OC.

Either draw your OC even if your not a good artist it doesn't hurt to try drawing your OCs.
And if your still not sure you should draw your OCs I suggest to use pictures of models/celebs instead. This way people can still can get an accurate idea if OC appearance.
