"Would you like one last piece of advice?" The woman smiles wryly, staring at the boy sitting idle in her office.
"Anything," he nods vigourously.
She smirks, casting her gaze out the window to the city of Gotham with a small, regretful glint in her eye, "Don't get married."
The silence in the wake of the statement has the young man pursing his lips, eyebrows furrowing. He doesn't understand.
"Why not?" He asks, "Most people want to get married."
The woman pushes away from the sill and moves across the room, shaking her head. He watches her open the door when she turns sharp eyes on him.
"It can cause the right kind of idiot to make the ultimate sacrifice," she admits with a face of tearful disgust. Despite that she gestures for him to leave.
Before he steps over the threshold, he turns to her with one last query, "And...what's that?"
A cold hand firmly grasps his shoulder and begins to push him out, but not before she whispers in his ear.
